i cant remember and we go every year... this year we are going with a large group of people and the men are big beer drinkers.. i cant remember if it is just wine or beer also.. i know they have coffee but i cant remember the beer? :confused3

If you mean the booths around the World Showcase, then yep, they have quite a few beers.

Since I'm dipping my toes in the beer world, I'm looking forward to this.

yep that is what i meant... do you know which countries have the best?

Nope, sorry, I only just drank my first beer that I enjoyed about two weeks ago. :) I'll be able to say in a couple weeks when it starts, though! Plus, there are a bunch of beer drinkers on the forums here who should hopefully come to your aid.

I'm thinking I read that there may be some kind of beer tasting - Sam Adams?

I wonder if there is a beer seminar at England/Rose and Crown?

Its our first time, while I've read a lot, I couldnt say for sure... hope to find out in time to get my dh and my dad there!! :cool1:

My husband LOVES beer, and is always looking for fabulous microbrews and foreign brews to try. One of his favorites is "Monty Pythons Holy Grail Ale". His very favorite is Ubu Ale, brewed by Saranac Brewery. He also likes Pilsner Urquell, Stella Artois, and Staropramen. And there's a six of Rogue Brewery's Dead Guy Ale in the fridge right now. (I say this only to show you that this is a guy who searches high and low for a good beer.)

At any rate, last year he tried a bottled beer from Canada, it was a beer made in Montreal, the alcohol level was around 12%. He claims it was simply one of the best beers he's ever had, hands down.

Anne

There are plenty of beers to be had, but most can be found in your local alcohol or grocery store.

Beer is one area that the food/wine (beer)_ fest could really improve upon. There are so many wonderful microbrews and don't even get me started on the belgians available. Beer (good beer) is an untapped market for disney...if they would listen to their consumers..they could really make some money.

Amen to that!!
As Disney beer goes, the F&W festival is probably as good as it's going to get. There will usually be something other than the usual suspects in at least a few of the countries--. I always make a beeline for Germany and a good HeffeWeizen, but in a couple of countries, I did spy a few beers that I hadn't tried before
As for the U.S.--I don't recall exactly what they had. Let's hope it was something OTHER than Sam Adams, which is now "featured" at almost every VFW, American Legion Hall, short order pizza carryout, and biker club in my area. They should be able to do much better than that----.
At least it wasn't Bud Light---was it??

Yes, they do have beer!

Be sure to sign up for the free beer seminar at the Rose and Crown
outdoor patio, early in the day. They will cancel it if it rains (grrr, it
happened to me), but hopefully I'll pick a sunny day to do it this year!

I seem to recall it was 3PM last year but I'm not 100% sure.

Funny, I didn't think anyone else knew about Ubu ale (I just bought a six-pack on Friday along with a sixer of their Frostbite Ale). Great stuff.

You husband probably had a Unibroue La Fin Du Monde at Canada (9% alcohol).

"His very favorite is Ubu Ale, brewed by Saranac Brewery"

Think this is from Lake Placid Brewing, not Saranac

"At any rate, last year he tried a bottled beer from Canada, it was a beer made in Montreal, the alcohol level was around 12%. He claims it was simply one of the best beers he's ever had, hands down."

The brewery that is available is Unibroue and they make Belgian Style Ales. The beers available outside are Maudite and Fin du Monde (8% and 9%). Inside they also have Blanche de Chambly (A witbier from Unibroue) and Moosehead Pale Ale (only place in the states). A few years ago, Maudite was on tap outside, but it is a little strong to be drinking 20 ozers in the heat. Tell your server to rinse your cup with water before pouring as the head tends to blow up in plastic.

To answer the original question, yes there is beer at F&W, about triple the usual amount of offerings. Sam Adams alone offers about 10 styles. Turkey and Poland each have a beer and AB has a stand with some of their imported beers, look at the festival menu pictures for exact listings. Sam Adams also has a beer tasting a few times a day.

There is also a brewpub at the boardwalk which has decent beer, but usually lousy service.

Just got back and had a Becks Octoberfest over at the German pavillion.
Not bad--.

Too bad they don't have one of the Munich six instead of Becks's (Spaten and Lowenbrau are Inbev products)...I've heard the Beck's is decent this year.

I didn't really look at any other nearby kiosks, as Mrs U had already gotten wine from France and I was thirsty!!
The only problem was (and this is true of all the beers I've had at F&W) is that it wasn't as cold as I like beer. And it got warm REAL fast in the outdoor heat!!
