Does the 5 to 7 day forecast tend to be accurate for Orlando?

I always hear people say Florida weather is very unpredictable. This is only our second Disney trip and rain is forecasted starting fives day from now through the rest of our trip (says rain for 11/18 through 11/21). I know things can change, but it's starting to worry me. The last time we went to Disney was in June 2014 and we got tons of rain everyday we were there (more than just the typical afternoon summer shower). We had a great time regardless and will have a great trip this time despite any rain, but can anyone make me feel better about the bleak forecast? I know November is supposed to be one of the drier months there, but apparently not the week we are going!

It will be fine. There is nothing you can do about it. Just go and have fun, bring rain gear. It is so unpredictable, just be flexible and prepared for anything. It will be fine, you are going to Disney in five days!

Accuracy depends on the season and the amount of "energy" in the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico.

A few summers back it was supposed to rain my entire trip but ended up being sunny the entire time. Last NYE it was supposed to be clear and cool but ended up being cloudy and rainy (and that was 1 and 2 day forecast!)

Very unpredictable. The temps are usually pretty accurate but the rain not so much.

Thanks everyone! I have been saying, "It's better to enjoy Disney in the rain then to not get to be there at all!" We will definitely come prepared like last time with our stroller cover, Disney ponchos, and umbrellas and cross our fingers for nice weather! : )

We are leaving Sunday so I have been watching the weather forecast for about a week. It seriously changes at least twice a day. I just keep watching it because I've never seen anything like it!

No. You cannot depend on a forecast 5-7 days out. We cannot even depend on a forecast 1 day in advance. :)
For example, we are supposed to have clear weather with sun for the weekend, but the temps are going to drop to the mid 70's.
It has been high 80's to low 90's all this week so this will be great for natives and tourists alike.
The mornings have been excessively foggy, but it burns off by 9:30 and turns out to be amazing.

Bring light, long sleeve wear and slacks/jeans for evening and chilly mornings, but wear layers for those afternoons that will heat up. And of course light rain gear and umbrellas. Definitely a change of footwear in case you get caught in a downpour. (Not nearly as commonplace in November as they are in June, July, August and September)
Hope you have a great time!

Never count on the forecast for anywhere 5 to 7 days in advanced. You have a 90% chance that it will change, change back and change again at least 4 more times.

The main thing I use 5 to 7 day forecasts for is temperature checks, they aren't always accurate, but they tend to be more accurate about that then the actual weather.

The best way to avoid rain at Disney is to go to Disneyland in the Summer. A rainy day is extremely rare in Southern California in the Summer.

No. Not even a tiny bit. The weather is somewhat accurate the day before, but even that is pushing it. It might rain, it might not. That's all you have to work with!

I have always found that the forecast for Orlando area changes so much that any long range forecasts never are accurate and always change. Hope you have good weather!:sunny:

It's supposed to be hot and kind of cloudy until Thursday. Then we have a cold front coming through, which is how we get rain during the "dry" season. Once the front clears, the temps will be in the upper 70's to maybe 80, and sunny.

At least, that's what they are telling us today . . .:rolleyes1

We leave Thursday and I have been watching the weather too and some days it changes multiple times a day!! I'm just hoping the temps are somewhat accurate so I can start packing!! Have fun!

5-7 days....no 5-7 hours maybe but probably still no. The forcast changes constanly.

This.

We booked a last minute trip in October for just one day. There was maybe a 10-20% chance of rain the entire 2 weeks right up to the night before with fairly low humidity. Then the morning of they said "chance" of showers from about 1-4pm and it showed clear the entire rest of the day. Instead it ended up raining from 1pm through the entire night.

It was mostly a drizzle though so not enough to stop us from enjoying ourselves. Just enough to make me look like a complete mess in all my photos, lol.

But really don't worry about forecasts at all. You just never know.

I just compared the forecast for the day we are leaving from here and there. Even if it is not spot on- I'm a winner!! Not sure where you live but that might be encouraging to look at a comparison of the weather you will be leaving behind. :)

Plus I glanced at the sunrise/sunset times. We get more daylight too! :) :)
