The last time we ate in Japan was our first visit in 05 when everything was included in the plan, yet they seemed to want to charge for all the little things. My dh has to have fried rice, when he eats asian food and loves to add more soy sauce. Drives me crazy but apparantly it drove them crazy too. They kept saying that is extra! Another coke? That is extra! It was a little frustrating and made the meal almost unpleasant.(mostly because they were not friendly) I am debating it again but wonder if it has changed much.

We have eaten there every trip (atleast once a year, for many years) and I have never been charged extra for a refill or for soy sauce or anything like that. Everything on the menu has a price and we have only ever been charged for what we ordered. Now last time I did ask for extra mushrooms and I was charged extra but I certainly expected it.

I do not believe they serve fried rice at all now. Management of that restaurant has changed since 2005 and so has the menu. Also, soup and salad are now not included with the entree and are not included in the basic dining plan (if you're on deluxe you can get one or the other for an appetizer)

We have eaten there several times and never been charged for drink refils.

Fried Rice is not Japanese, and it is not on the menu.
We have never been charged extra for anything.

We ate there and had a great time. We were not charged extra for anything besides the sushi app. We were on the dining plan. Maybe that was just part of the "show" and the were joking with you a little bit.

Same here.

BTW, even when the restaurant was Mitsukoshi Dining Room, there has never been fried rice on the menu. :confused3

When my family ate there in December, we thought the staff were the friendliest we encountered in all of WDW!!
