Does Tarzan Still Rock?

I'd just like to add one more to the list of families who enjoy Tarzan Rocks and will be sad to see it go. The movie was one of DD's early favorites and we still love the soundtrack. With the live band, baboons on roller blades, and acrobatic actors, we've always found Tarzan Rocks to be entertaining.....but we also miss the Hunchback show at Disney Studios.

Yup yup, us too. It's really the only thing that makes me want to visit AK!

Would be nice if they could move it to MGM and then close down Ak ;)

Next visit is not until Sept 2006 so I guess I've seen it for my last time. :(

Whenever I'm grocery shopping and the Tarzan love song comes on I get all dreamy and feel like I'm back at WDW watching the show.

I, too, will miss this show. I'm one of the presumably few that enjoys this more than Lion King. (Don't shoot me.)

I always had wished that Disney would release a soundtrack to the show! I guess that isn't going to happen now... ;)

We've been to Disney a few time, but never found time to see Tarzan. I'm glad I read this post so now we'll be sure to see it before they close.

tarzan has never rocked it always suck so i hope they close it

There are three problems with this philosophy:
1. They haven't announced anything that they're replacing the show with
2. People who like this show will now be competing with the rest of us at Festival of the Lion King
3. A healthy amount of people DO like the show... I hope they enjoy it

:earsboy:

ditto :)

We were just there and caught the end of the show. I wished that we had seen all of it. We all enjoyed it but I do have boys 11,13, 14. and they skate.

I am surprised at the amount of negative comments on the show.

The newest rumor is that Tarzan Rocks will be open until March (REMEMBER: THIS IS JUST A RUMOR!!!). They would have the ability to extend the performers contracts in order to do so. After March, it will close and be enclosed. Now, there are three rumors that I've heard about a replacement show.

1. Finding Nemo show
2. Jungle Book show
3. Chronicles of Narnia show (not sure what animals have to do with this)

Remember, these are simply rumors....

Guess we better make sure we see this another time or 2 before it closes. Our family likes this show and will miss it. They can keep the Finding Nemo show if indeed that's what they are planning. I'm tired of shows that just rehash the videos I've seen 400 times. That's one reason we like Tarzan Rocks.

Im so glad it is closing. As a family every one of us thought it was poor. Good news!

After seeing it for the umpteenth time, I for one will be glad to see it replaced with another show. The next one to replace should be Indiana Jones. :cool1:

Wasn't Jungle Book the original show in that theater? I seem to remember seeing a part of that the first year.

Yes it was which is why I doubt that they'll bring it back...but, who knows?
