Does SW usually have a system-wide sale for Aug/sept?

I am just wondering because next year we are traveling in Aug. but don't know if I will want to chance waiting for a sale?

Do you think it would work to book two adults and one child and not book the infant, then if the sale came up add the credit toward the infant price? We did this once before but the infant fare was higher than it would have been if we had booked it early. I'm not sure we saved money that time?

How do they discount child fares for over 2? Would it make sense to wait to book that fare as well?

TIA

Monica

The discounted child fares are generally based on a discount from the full, unrestricted ticket price and can only be booked by calling Southwest directly. You can almost always get an internet fare for less than the child fare price.

Systemwide sales seem to pop up fairly often, but the fares can vary greatly and availability can be limited at peak travel days and times.
