Does SW Add Flights?

We decided yesterday to take a short trip in December to celebrate my grandnephew's birthday. We would need to fly down the on a Wednesday evening early in December. I was surprised to see that the SW nonstop evening flight is already sold out! Do they ever add flights? I'm very partial to SW but may have to use another airline if there's no other option.

Generally not--one consequence of releasing their schedule relatively late is that it tends to stay pretty firm.

When I flew in May to see my friend in Orlando the only afternoon time that arrived at a decent hour had a change of planes. I booked it since the next flight got in after midnight. I was checking a few weeks later to see if prices had gone down and they had added a non-stop that left about a half hour after my original and got in a little earlier. Granted, I've never noticed them add a flight before, but it apparently does happen.

It rarely happens but can.
