I am not usually a coffee drinker but I fell in love with the Mint mocha latte from Cove cafe while on the Wonder. I was wondering if I could find an equivalent drink in my town.

Yes! Starbucks peppermint mocha (although I have yet to experience the cove cafe so it may not be the same.)

Starbucks can do a peppermint mocha. But they do not have the liqueurs that are in the mint mocha latte so it will taste slightly different. (Actually the "latte" is pretty much redundant as a mocha IS a latte...just with mocha syrup in it. I know that's how DCL named it, but it's like the places that advertise "ATM Machines" - the M stands for Machine. LOL. Just one of those things that makes me roll my eyes. I still drink them though! The mochas that is.)

(Also no nasty wood stirs. Andrae always remembered not to put one in my drink, but the other guy in Cove in February never remembered until the thing was in there.)

Starbucks Peppermint Mochas are not available all year round, only during the Christmas season (unless you happen to come across a store that has been has been hoarding the syrups lol)

But thank you for the tip on the mint mocha latte, definitely going to try one of those when we are on the Wonder at the end of September!

Peppermint is a standard syrup at Starbucks - not seasonal. (Even if the peppermint mocha is not on the menu, you can ask for it. It's like In-And-Out Burger...there's a "secret" menu. Like a "grasshopper" - a peppermint green tea latte which you can get whenever. I just had one after yoga today.)

Gingerbread and Pumpkin are season-specific.

I have worked at Starbucks and one of my best friends is a manager, and the lack of peppermint year-round is one of the most common misconceptions going.

Haha really? You know I never really tried to get one outside of the Christmas season (I'm not big on those flavoured ones anyway)....but now I think I'll try ;-) Thanks for the info!!

No problem! :) They are only on the menu during the holidays because for some silly reason people think peppermint is ONLY a holiday thing. SO many shades of wrong!

eta: Now, they may order peppermint in smaller quantities during the rest of the year, so they may run out between shipments, but it is something they should always have.

Agreed. I'm addicted to peppermint mochas and my Starbucks pulls the syrup out for me whenever I get the craving. I had one last week.

Here in NYC (and when I was in DC there as well) it is up in the syrup rack! No "pulling it out". :)

I love white chocolate peppermint mochas from Sbux! It's my daughters favorite as well (she gets decaf since she is 10.)!
