We went on Soarin for the first time last year. It was wonderful. We went in the last 40 minutes until park closing and it was empty so we went on it about 4 times in a row.

By the 4th time I still thought it was great but thought it would be really nice if they change the experience now and again.

Honestly the part of Micky's Philharmagic when you feel like you are flying along with Aladdin and Jasmine was incredible and I thought it would really something to have a ride that made you fell like that for a longer period of time.

Do they every change the ride or is always the California coast?:)

It never changes. :) Always over California. I thought I read it might be changing/updating soon...but not sure to what or when.

There are rumors that they're working on a new film....but I think I've heard that rumor for a couple years.

It is identical to the show at DCA.

The rumor that the show that it was built to show is one that showcases the eco systems of the world. Which explains why it's attached to "The Land". Started before it was officially open.

10 years later we have the same worn out print we had 10 years ago. while the DCA show has been upgraded to a Digital Projector.

So I would disagree it's Identical to DCA. We have a special print with hair's and fur and skips.

Thanks for the information. It would be nice if it had the capability to be like star tours in that you have the ability to have different ride experiences depending on when you go.

It is a good ride. I would not wait a really long time for it though. Just before park closing if you are around is a really good time to go a couple times in a row.:goodvibes

The control system is a general purpose computer, nothing is "hardwired." I've been told. So doing Soarin Star Tours style is possible, if they upgrade the projectors to be digital.

It was built this way because they intended to swap out the film. Like I've said a couple of times today. It's almost 10 years old. Maybe Soarin will get a a nice birthday present.

That would be really cool if they actually did that. Good to know it is possible though. I know I have seen people say it often and I am in agreement that Epcot really needs to recapture that sense of the future that it had years ago.

It was so incredibly exciting to see the things that you thought were going to be common place in the future. They really need to get that back. There does not seem to be a strong identity for Epcot at all anymore. I do enjoy our time spent there but it needs some updating. :)

If you notice, I only call the park, EPCOT Center (sometimes I use EC.) The ballcap I wear all the time, is a black one with EPCOT Center on it and the Spectrum logo.

I agree 100%. Remember the Worldkey Kiosks? Today we walk around with video phones in our pockets, but at the time it was awesome.

The problem is that these days, by the time they got an exhibit updated with
"the future" it would be "the present' --

our timeline from idea to prototype is about 30 days now...

Well that is true.... but I do think they could do better. It is hard to create that sense of wonderment at what the future can look like today. Years ago it was a different story. I wonder how my 5 year old feels when in Epcot? My guess it is certainly not the same as I did years ago. At the very least they can make good use of those pavilions and keep things clean and new looking.

I remember at MK at cosmic rays just loving him. He got so much attention. When we were last he was completely ignored :sad2: Poor Ray. Tomorrowland and Epcot need an infusion of future again.

Ray? Do you mean the performer at Cosmic Ray's? His name is Sonny Eclipse and he totally rocks. I never ignore him, I often grab CS there just so I can sit and watch his show.

Infact if it wasn't for Sonny, I would avoid the whole establishment, the "Bays" drives me nuts.

And can anyone explain to me why Pecos Bill's and CHH get the cool order kiosks, and tech savvy tomorrowland has lines and a person.

Hahah yes Sonny Eclipse. I should know that seeing as we too listened to act in the front row laughing. He is great. :thumbsup2

Thumbs up on Sonny Eclipse...My kids ask me if we can go to Yew Nork City.

The feet/shoes you see from the row in front of you are different each time.
