Does September ruin you forever?

So glad to hear you say this...and I'll try to stay optimistic! :goodvibes Our second trip is planned for January 4-10, as I thought this was also a very low week. However, the crowd calendars simply do not agree. They are showing 5s and 6s for our January days as compared to 1s and 2s for our entire September trip last year. ?? It looks the rest of January is very low, but not the first week and a half. Guess we'll find out!

I would say anywhere from maybe January 5-6th on the crowds are low, at least that is what I find...:confused3 I think it is much less crowded than September. September you have the crowds going for MNSSHP. One time September was very low, but over time the crowds have increased & I do think it's because they have started MNSSHP earlier and earlier... ::yes::

I went to WDW between September 11 and 18 this year (for my birthday) and it was awesome. Low lines (um, except Toy Story and some other faves) but for the most part you could walk right on rides.

I'm seriously thinking of making my b'day week an annual trip.

I'm heading back to WDW on November 13, hoping to have some fun there too.

Mike.

We have gone to WDW in September for the last 11 years and it does spoil you with less crowds. That being said, we also go at Christmas and in the Spring and still enjoy going, but we always make a point of saying this is nothing like September.

We were at WDW from the 8th -16th September. I couldn't believe how quiet it was. It did start getting busier towards the end od our stay, but I cant complain. We had perfect weather too, bar a thunderstorm on our first day, but that only lasted about an hour. Being from Australia, the heat didn't bother us one bit...
Now I would love to visit one Christmas, but I admit the thought of heavy crowds makes me wonder if I should or not. If we do decide to, we will definitely be hiring a car for our stay :rolleyes1

Craftymama,
I'm pleased to read this! We're from Sydney and are planning a visit to WDW in mid-September next year. I've been checking the weather records and wondering how it will be. We were there in mid-October in 2008 and it was lovely, have been wondering how we'll cope with the higher temps and humidity. I was hoping it wouldn't be any worse than a hot summer day in Sydney before the Southerly Buster blows in :)

I'm really looking forward to the extra low crowd levels in September. I remember it was pretty good in mid-October ( much better than the same time in Disneyland - we were there in 2009 and the crowds on a Friday evening were scary!)

We experienced two very different Septembers, both the same week. The first time in 2005, the weather was perfect, there were no lines and it was completely enjoyable. The second time was our HM in 2009. The temps and humidity were awful (like walking through pea soup) and the lines much longer.

I just saw this post. We are considering a September 2012 trip. Two concerns:

Weather....what was it like? I know hot and humid and ok with that but what about rain. Even without a hurricane was it still really rainy like they say?

The other concern for us is these love bugs I keep hearing about...what's the deal?

We've been the beginning of almost every month and Sept. is by far the lowest crowds.....and the HOTTEST. But it was wonderful with Oct. being a close second.:goodvibes

We were there the last week of September and only had rain one afternoon/evening. It rained steadily all night and ponchos were necessary. Many people have said to expect daily pop up afternoon thunderstorms that are brief, but we did not see that. Due to the heat and humidity, it raises the chances of rain. They called for a 50-60% chance of thunderstorms each day we were there, but like I said it only rained the one day. The week before we got there, I think they saw much more rain. So it can really vary, but I would certainly plan on rain if you go.

We saw a few love bugs the last week of September but I think they were mostly past peak. For a few weeks in mid-May and mid-September they are out in full force. They don't bite or sting but they are an annoyance from what I've read. They were a non-issue when we were there but I think we missed the majority of them.

One of the worst trips we ever had was late September 2009. We went for my birthday and as the locals said, the heat and humidity came late that year. I was miserable 90 degrees and at least 90% humidity, arrrgh. We're trying the week after Thanksgiving this year and we're looking forward to doing our first MVMCP, and we hope cool weather.
