You know how they say that death comes in threes...James Brown...Gerald Ford...and now does Saddam count as #3 or is someone else famous going soon?? :confused3

Just wondering...

DH just said the very same thing but I do not count Saddam as anything near a human.............

Good question. Right off I would say no, only because it was caused by humans and not a natural death.

I like to think the three were Ford, Brown and Joseph Barbera (of Hanna and Barbera fame). Barbera was a week earlier, but is a far more respectable guy to put in the company of Ford and Brown, IMHO.

I agree. Brown and Ford deserve better company, especially since they're going to opposite places! :rotfl2:

My DH said this too! Before Sadam was executed he had said there would be someone else to die. A coworker asked him who would be the 3rd and he said Sadam would be executed. Two days later, it happened!

I don't think so. Besides, weren't 2 other people hung along with Saddam?? I think those 3 are in a class all their own.

They decided NOT to hang the 2 others at the same time that they hung Saddam. They wanted to reserve the day "just for him". The other 2 will be done at another time (unless they did today, not sure).

I'm not counting Saddam as a 3rd. I guess because it wasn't natural or accidental. :confused3

The funny thing is, that as weird as that old cliche sounds, it is amazing just how many times it is proven true. Even in my own family, whenever there is a death of a relative, more often than not, within the next month or two we get word of two more deaths as well.
As for Saddam, I don't think he counts. The first two are famous people, Saddam is more infamous. And as previously mentioned, Joseph Barberra is close enough to fill that third (or should we say first) slot.

The man that played Lionel on the Jeffersons and All In The Family died before James Brown. So I think him, Brown and President Ford are the three.

What?? I'd heard about Joe Barbera and Peter Boyle, but not about that. :(

Yup. My grandmother is so relieved, she called me before the Saddam thing, all worried about who was going to be number 3. I think she thought it might be herself. :scared1: Thank goodness it was him instead. :thumbsup2
