Does reporting CC lost hurt your credit?

Does anyone know if reporting a lost credit card hurt your credit? She told me over the phone that they would cancel the card and issue me a new account number, which is what I wanted, but I am afriad this will erase the history I have with my cards. Anyone know?

No, you'll be fine. They close the account, but transfer your history on that card to the new account. Not a problem at all.

My son had his first CC stolen his 2nd week in college. He quickly called the CC co and canceled that card and they issued him a new card. It didn't affect his credit at all......even though he had only used it once; for books.

It is listed on the credit report though.. I had one card that I lost several times.. I got my credit report a month or so ago and it listed on there but does say credit card lost or stolen.. it lists it as a separate cc since it has a new #
