I seen a thread that said when you get to POR don't forget to sign up for the campfire. Do they have a campfire at POR, and if so what exactly to they do their?
I have been to (many times) the campfire program at Fort Wilderness campground. They have two large cast iron kettles that CM's get a fire going in so you can roast marshmellows. Don't have a stick & marshmellows? Not to worry you can buy them there at a stand behind the bleachers where you sit to watch the nightly movie under the stars. Don't forget to bring your singing voice. Yes they do sing-a-long as well. I beleive the program starts about 7pm but you may want to check with a CM at Fort Wilderness to make sure.
It seems they were trying this out for awhile and may be bringing it back in the fall. Nothing as elaborate as at FW(no movies or characters) but it still sounds cute. They sell s'more ingredients and have a singalong.
