Does Pixie Dust Help with Decision-Making? A 2012 PTR! NEW! 6/30 pg.85

Hi there! :wave2: I haven't been on here in ages, but the picture you posted on Facebook of the yummy looking gelato sundae was just the push I needed to come back to the DIS for some PTR/TR reading! I have caught up on all of your links. Tybee Island looks like a fantastic time!

I am planning a trip for July, too, but for later in the month. It is almost ADR time for me, too! I think I might want to try Artist Point for our anniversary dinner, but I haven't made up my mind yet....

Mmm..Via Napoli looks so good! I've heard good things about their pizza!

Ohana's. Here's the deal. They DO NOT stop bringing you food. I felt bad in a way, because we felt like we wasted so much of it. The noodles, bread, potstickers were delicious. The steak and chicken were my favorite. The meats seems to be marinated and are juicy and very tasty. We found that sometimes if you ended up getting towards the middle of the meat on the sticks that they're coming around with, that sometimes they were really on the rare side. But they were fantastic all around. And the bread pudding is TO DIE FOR! I was STUFFED and still had room for this!!! :rotfl:

So overall, be prepared TO EAT at Ohana's! :thumbsup2

Your ADR's look great!

'Ohana is amazing! You will love it! The dessert is the best! :thumbsup2
Be careful ordering that Lapu Lapu....I had one in September and it was waaay strong! :rotfl:
I hope my next time at 'Ohana is better than this last time on NYE. I spent the whole dinner trying to stop my head from spinning...and I couldn't eat anything.

I missed our ADR for Via Nappoli cause I was ill too. I was excited to try the pizza. That one is going back on my to do list for sure.

We enjoyed TRex. We were in the Ice room and it is very cool, it changes colors. There is even a meteor shower. Be prepared, it's very loud but a lot of fun.

Blue Zoo looks gorgeous....glad you got this one. :)

I'm so happy you have a trip planned! And it seems there will be lots of DIS friends joining you for the 4th.
I always enjoy seeing your trip binders. :goodvibes

LOVE your binder...it's so festive and cute! :goodvibes

It looks like you have some fantastic ADR's lined up...I'll be interested in hearing your reviews after you go.....I haven't been to any of those places either. It's so fun to try out new places! :thumbsup2

The binder looks fabulous! I still need to get Michelle to do a cover for mine.

Your meals sound soooo good. I think your family will really like 'Ohanas and Trex. I haven't had Blue Zoo or Via Napoli yet so I can't wait to read your reviews. I'm sure Chelsea will be checking out those waiters for us. She'll have to give her opinion compared to Tutto's.

Ohana's. Here's the deal. They DO NOT stop bringing you food. I felt bad in a way, because we felt like we wasted so much of it.

I stress over this, too. I really wanted to stuff some gallon-sized ziplock bags with the food we left sitting on the serving trays.

The noodles, bread, potstickers were delicious. The steak and chicken were my favorite. And the bread pudding is TO DIE FOR! I was STUFFED and still had room for this!!! :rotfl:

I loved the steak and pork on skewers, and I liked the chicken wings better than the skewer chicken. It was all so good, though. I ate my weight in noodles and broccoli both times we ate there! And the bread pudding - heaven on a plate!

So overall, be prepared TO EAT at Ohana's! :thumbsup2

::yes::

AWESOME meal choices, Jackie! :thumbsup2

Via Napoli is one of my absolute favorites at Disney World. The pizza is seriously to die for... I came home and couldn't eat pizza for awhile because nothing compared to the pizza I had there. It was THAT good. The desserts are pretty amazing, too.

Yall are going to LOVE 'Ohana! The atmosphere alone is just plain fun. All of the food is delicious and the fact that you can just get as much as you want is great... especially for the guys who eat a lot. Make sure you try to leave a little bit of room for the bread pudding at the end... oh my gosh -- YUMMMM!

We have never done T-Rex, but it's on our list for December. You'll have to let me know how yall like it!

::yes::
That's the first thing I realized when they bring the portions out and they're SO big! I felt bad instantly! Totally agree with you on that zip lock idea!

I didn't even get to try the chicken wings because I got sucked into those noodles! Even the bread was delicious! And yes...heaven on a plate is that bread pudding!! We devoured that thing!!

Jackie, good choices! :thumbsup2 I think 'Ohana would be my favorite. I'm glad you will be dining with friends. Are they Dis friends? How fun!! :goodvibes

The binder is cute stuff. I wish I was even a little bit crafty. :confused3

Now, a question. Is your trip 4-5 nights? Are you doing one park per day? I'm trying to plan an October trip and I'm looking at about the same amount of time and wondering how to get to each park and not feel rushed. Do you park hop?

I love the new binder. It will be filled with Disney fun and pixie dust. Your ADR makes my mouth water just thinking about the tasty food.

Thanks, Elaine! I do love filling the binder and dreaming about Disney meals!

I very much needed to read about happy Disney planning this morning, so thanks for the pictures. You should have seen the guys' plates at 'Ohana! Marc's and John's were a sight, and although I didn't see it, I heard Jarvis had a huge mound of shrimp leftovers, too.

All three of my meat eaters will enjoy Ohana's! Without a doubt!

I hope it will work out for Brooklynn and I to stay through until July 5th. In about a week, I will be booking our rooms for June, and I also have to transfer my March package money over to an October package. If the winter weather will continue to be nice to us, a 'no spring break trip' year will be easier to handle. :thumbsup2

I do hope that you will be able to stay through the fifth. Has your weather been like ours -- a couple of days of cold, then several days of warmer weather? I could handle that.

Ms. Jackie I LOVE these plans!!!! LOOKING great!!! I love it!! I also love that you have a binder, girl I am so impressed and you have motivated me!! I think, CP, that the BINDER thingy MIGHT have to make a return debut to the Trip Planning for SUMMER 2012... remember the BINDER THINGY ??!! :) Shall I remind you??!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

:lmao: I love your binder thingy! I definitely think it needs to be resurrected! :thumbsup2 Maybe this weekend's project?

I am sorry to crash your PTR... the more I think about our upcoming trip, the more excited I get because of course that 4th of July trip was our first big FOR REAL trip to Disney... I keep recalling that!!!

You can crash my PTR ANYTIME!!! I am very excited about this trip, too! It will be here before we know it! :woohoo: I keep thinking we may need to add Park Hoppers to our tickets because I keep finding drinks I want at Epcot! Otherwise, someone may need to prop me up against a light pole to watch Illuminations that night. :rotfl:

Your Dinner plans sound fabulous, and Blue Zoo will be fabulous, trust me! Are you going to sit in the dining room or at the bar? We'll talk!!! :thumbsup2

Yes, we will talk LOTS! I am thinking the bar area.

Love you binder cover, I think the big mickey with the firework rockets looks great... A FORTH of FUN. You said it best!!!! :thumbsup2 SO excited!!!!

Thanks! I am pretty beside myself, too! I do a little happy dance every time I think about all of us partying down there!

Love the binder. Fourth of July at Disney is so much fun!! I went for the 4th in '05. Your ADRs sound delish! The only ones I've tried areT-rex twice and Blue Zoo many times. This reminds me that I need to start deciding about ADRs for the end of July. I know that 'Ohana is a must. Your trip will be here in no time.:goodvibes

Thanks! Charles really liked the menu at T-Rex -- there were lots of things he said sounded good.

Hurrah for being within 180 days and making ADRs! :yay: I haven't dined at O'Hana or T Rex but feel comfortable assurring you that you are going to LOVE your meals at Via Napoli and Blue Zoo!!

Your binder looks awesome!!!

Thanks, Christine! I am definitely looking forward to both Via Napoli and Blue Zoo for obvious reasons!

I love the binder & the ADRs you have planned! :thumbsup2

Thank you, Amy! I can't wait for the actual trip!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who still does a trip binder. I like having a place for everything!

I have to have all that stuff organized, and truth be told, I like designing the cover of the binder, too. :goodvibes

Fun binder and fun ADR's. I love Via, Blue Zoo and Ohana, great great choices!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It will be SO much fun to be there on the 4th.

I am so looking forward to watching fireworks and eating at all those places. I just hope the crowds are manageable.

I think the crab nachos are a splendid idea and I might just beat you to that. Nice ADRs. cute Binder! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Thanks, Mary Ellen! If you could go ahead and try those crab nachos for me, that would be great. Take one of your great photos of them beforehand, so I can drool over it. :thumbsup2

LOVE THE BINDER!!! It looks fantabulous!!!

Your ADRs sound perfect!!!! I can't wait to be back there and eating great Disney food!!!!!!

You and me both, Jen!!! ::yes::

What a fun binder. I have a five tabbed folder thingie that I keep all my trip stuff in.

You have picked some great places to eat.

Yes MeMom, I think Jarvis had the biggest pile of shimp leftovers. :lmao:

I need to get cracking on a new ticker!!!

Thanks, Pat! Chelsea can put away some shrimp -- her plate of tails may just rival Jarvis'. I don't know where she puts it all. LOL!

Your binder is so cute! I always use the same plain old white one! I should get more creative! You are inspiring me!!!

Thanks! I always like doing the cover to reflect the trip.

I'm already planning a dinner at Ohana in October!! We won't be doing DDP, but that is one ADR I'm sure of! We've never been, and that must be rectified!

We aren't doing the dining plan, either. It's just so expensive these days with the kids being considered "adults."

Crab nachos sound good to me. Right now. I'm making turkey chili and now that's just not going to be good enough!

I always feel like that after looking at Disney food. LOL!

Hi Jackie. I have not been on in a while & very behind on all TR's but just read about your ADR's. They all look great!!:thumbsup2

Jeff & I went to T Rex (on the night we were supposed to be home in Oct.) & we LOVED it. It was great. I hope you have a great experience like we had.

Love the binder!!:goodvibes

Thanks! I hope we enjoy T-Rex, too. I think the kids will get a kick out of the theming, and the food looks pretty good.

I think your plans sound very yummy! I love trying new places. I usually book all new places on every trip we take except for Ohana. That is a staple for each trip! YUM YUM YUM! I'm so excited that you are trying that one out. I hope you love it! I'm curious to see what you think of T-Rex too. Haven't been there yet, but would like to. And crab nachos... yes, I want to hear more about that! popcorn:: I think you were very smart to book some ressies. You can always cancel, but if you don't have any, you might not get any later. And I agree... we love our Disney food too. :thumbsup2 A WDW trip just wouldn't seem the same to me without some TS meals.

I always hear great things about Ohana's at dinnertime. Of course, anyplace that has shrimp and noodles sounds good to me.

I just couldn't plan a trip without some ADRs. Sometimes it is nice to just sit and have someone bring me the food after a day in the parks!

Lots of yummy places planned. Also liked all those 4th of July treats! Would love to do a trip then but the airfare is currently over $200 per per PER WAY :scared1::scared1:

That's crazy! From what I have been reading, airfare is pretty high everywhere. :sad2:

For some reason I can't see all your pictures :sad2: and can't see the binder...have to try on my desktop later...but yeah for plans and under 6 months :cool1:

Thanks, Julie! I can't believe we are already under six months!

Yummy! Yummy! Yummy!!

LOVE Via Napoli!! Pizza and Prosecco!

I haven't been to Ohana for dinner yet but, I really want to try it!!

Blue Zoo is one of my favorite all time meals! It's FABULOUS!!!

T-Rex is a lot of fun! The food is kind of like you would get at TGI Friday's or a place like that but a little better!

Sounds like a perfect mix of ADR's!

Thanks, Melissa! I love that you have enjoyed your meals at all the places we are going to try! :thumbsup2 I'll let you know about Ohana's, but it seems like everyone enjoys it.

Thank you for the ideas! Since we aren't using dining plan anymore, (Girls turn ten next month...) Blue Zoo and Via Napoli sound like two great options for us!

Great plan so far!

PS love your new serving dishes from ebay!

Debby, that's when we stopped using the dining plan, too. It's crazy expensive when the kids are "adults," and our eating habits don't always mesh with it.

Thanks! I have yet to make deviled eggs for the plate, but that hasn't stopped me from looking at coordinating pieces. :lmao:

Hi!!! Welcome back to the DIS! Artist Point is one of those places we would love to try sometime! I love their menu, so I think that would be a great place for your anniversary dinner.

Mmm..Via Napoli looks so good! I've heard good things about their pizza!

Yum! My stomach is growling now, Jess, from your descriptions! All of it sounds delicious. Someone will need to roll me out to the car afterwards. LOL!

I have heard that the Lapu Lapu is pretty strong -- I may have to try a different drink. What a shame that you felt bad at dinner this year. :(

I missed our ADR for Via Nappoli cause I was ill too. I was excited to try the pizza. That one is going back on my to do list for sure.

That is too bad. :( You definitely need a redo on your trip.

We enjoyed TRex. We were in the Ice room and it is very cool, it changes colors. There is even a meteor shower. Be prepared, it's very loud but a lot of fun.

I can't wait!!!

Blue Zoo looks gorgeous....glad you got this one. :)

LOL! Yes, Chelsea will be sure to offer her opinion of the waiters.

I stress over this, too. I really wanted to stuff some gallon-sized ziplock bags with the food we left sitting on the serving trays.

 If there is shrimp leftover, I can promise you that Chelsea will insist on taking it back to the room and putting it in the fridge.

I loved the steak and pork on skewers, and I liked the chicken wings better than the skewer chicken. It was all so good, though. I ate my weight in noodles and broccoli both times we ate there! And the bread pudding - heaven on a plate!

This really makes my stomach growl thinking about it.[/QUOTE]

AWESOME meal choices, Jackie! :thumbsup2

Via Napoli is one of my absolute favorites at Disney World. The pizza is seriously to die for... I came home and couldn't eat pizza for awhile because nothing compared to the pizza I had there. It was THAT good. The desserts are pretty amazing, too.

We will! We will! :thumbsup2

Nice binder and love the ADRs!

Thank you, Jill!

Love your binder and 'Ohana is sooo yummy!!!!

Hurray! I love reading about how well-loved Ohana's is!

That's the first thing I realized when they bring the portions out and they're SO big! I felt bad instantly! Totally agree with you on that zip lock idea!

Should we bring our own ziploc bags? LOL!

I didn't even get to try the chicken wings because I got sucked into those noodles! Even the bread was delicious! And yes...heaven on a plate is that bread pudding!! We devoured that thing!!

I am going to have to work on pacing myself, and making sure Connor paces himself -- I can just see him writhing in the chair because he ate too much. LOL!

Jackie, good choices! :thumbsup2 I think 'Ohana would be my favorite. I'm glad you will be dining with friends. Are they Dis friends? How fun!! :goodvibes

Yes, Happydog and her crew, and Anita, Marc, Baylor, and JenJolt! :thumbsup2

The binder is cute stuff. I wish I was even a little bit crafty. :confused3

You could do it! It's not hard at all! :goodvibes

Now, a question. Is your trip 4-5 nights? Are you doing one park per day? I'm trying to plan an October trip and I'm looking at about the same amount of time and wondering how to get to each park and not feel rushed. Do you park hop?

Our trip is five nights -- one park a day -- with MK on our arrival day and the fifth. We are usually happy with just the one park. We collect Fast Passes in the morning, take an afternoon break, and then go back to the same park and use all of our Fast Passes in the evening. It works out pretty well for us.

I keep thinking we may need to add Park Hoppers to our tickets because I keep finding drinks I want at Epcot! Otherwise, someone may need to prop me up against a light pole to watch Illuminations that night. :rotfl:

You have discovered some great new places, with the wine bar, and the sake bar!!! Of course that Tokyo Sunset :thumbsup2 , Michelle and I had a few of those at the F&W!!! Don't worry, we won't let you fall into the water :)

I will say we do like the Park Hoppers, but that is because we like options, and DH really prefers the restaurants in Epcot over everything else. So it isn't unheard of for us to eat in Epcot, but go elsewhere that evening... it is doable without them, I know, and in some cases I think it is a good idea, because it keeps your days simple without all the running around...

I will probably start working on my Binder Thingy in the weeks to come, I bought an App for my Ipad, and I have been putting my ADRs into it!!! :thumbsup2

As you know, I am particularly excited about the wine bar in Italy.

I have seen some cool countdown apps as well -- have you explored those yet? :goodvibes

I am too!! As well as that gelato sundae thing!!!

I bought the Disney World Magic Guide.

I am just getting started with my Apps on the Ipad. I will probably look for some other applications, some, however are only for the iphone...

Maybe we should just set up our own little table in Italy and hang out there all afternoon. LOL!

I really have iPad envy these days. LOL!

WELL, that IS how the Italians do it... LOL!!!! :rotfl: It is all about having the perfect table in the Piazza.... :lmao: There are several in the Italy Pavillion... I think we can find a good parking spot!!! LOL!!! This is why I tell you Kim Possible is going to be very POSSIBLE this trip (at least from my point of view!!!)

I really have iPad envy these days. LOL!

Well, Matt actually won it in a competition through EF tours. He was entered in a drawing for it with other tour leaders... which is kind of cool. But initially I was looking at a new laptop a smaller one for travel... this is the first apple product I have owned in a LONG LONG LONG time. So it is still new. I don't know that I would have bought one...

"Table in the piazza. Kids do Kim Possible." :thumbsup2

Perfect!
