Does Pixie Dust Help with Decision-Making? A 2012 PTR! NEW! 6/30 pg.85

Happy Birthday Jackie!!:bday:party:

Loved the TR to Tybee. As always you make us all want to be there with you.
Loved the cottage, the pics of you in the big chair, the dolphins & sunset etc.

Loved the souvies you got also. Great idea with the postcards.

I lost my Mom over 17 years ago. Over time it gets easier & I still talk to her in my own way. She will always be with me. I posted on your FB page when I heard but just wanted to mention again I am very sorry for your loss.

Love your idea for the Christmas cards. We are doing a photo pic also this year as I got great deals after Christmas last year on the cards where you slip the picture in.

Hope you have a great birthday & weekend.:goodvibes

That story has my head spinning. I think I would have had an ulcer.
Glad it got to you Jackie and Memom has some relief now. We are booked from 5/26-6/5 ( I think, I will have to check). I would love to meet the CP gang!
Have a great Sunday!

I know I would have had an ulcer! ::yes::

We would love to meet up with you, too, but I think, from what the kids have declared, we may be leaning towards the Fourth now.

Love the pumpkin picture where everybody posed like their pumpkins. Too cute!

Thanks! My family cracks me up!

LOL. We were posting at the same time and I missed your update. I saw your pictures on FB and thought how fun it would be to live at your house.
Love the pics in the cotton fields. I have always been fascinated by cotton fields. They are so neat! Love the pumpkins and cookies!

Ah, thanks, Cara! We try our best to have fun.

I have always been fascinated by cotton fields, too. Of course, every time I see a cotton field I start quoting lines from Gone with the Wind. LOL!

Fun pictures of your pumpkin adventures!!

Crazy story about getting that package to you Jackie!! I'm so happy that it came to the right place in the end.

You know, I was thinking, once a while back I had been on the phone with WDW - probably for reservations, and they had my MIL's name with our address. It was all mixed up - I think because we had made reservations and used our email/home address but had her name too. We still get mail from Disney for her. Drives me crazy because it's often a PIN code in HER name only!!!! Now she can't travel with us so we can't use them. :(

Makes me wonder if she's been getting mail for us too????

Thanks! I think we figured out why they had that address for me -- as "Jackie" in the computer it would be my MIL's address because of the 2004 trip, but as "Jacqueline" which is the name I always use to make Disney reservations, it would be my current address.

I love the pumpkins and the cookies! So cute! Please post the sugar cookie recipe. I'm looking for a new one. :goodvibes

The cotton field photos are beautiful!

Are you dressing up tomorrow?

Thanks, Jen! I will send you Happydog's recipe!

No dressing up for me -- although I did wear one of my Halloween shirts. I saw the comments some of your students made about your Jets jersey. LOL!

Love Love your Halloween traditions!!!!! Can I come to your house next year?? Oooh Happydog has a sugar cookie recipe?!?!? Hmmmm think I need to contact her and get to share it with me LOL!!!!

Love how the pumpkins turned out...WAY tooo cute!!

The pictures in the cotton field are just awesome! What a great idea!

You are always welcome at our house, Jen!

Thanks -- I liked how the cotton field pictures turned out.

MeMom - That's a pretty wild story of shipping packages

Jackie - Your pumpkins are so cute! I love the cotton field pictures idea, what a great background!

Thank you! I was quite pleased with the cotton idea. LOL!

Jackie, it sure looks like a fun day at your house! Happydog's sugar cookies are yummy, so I know yours were too!
I love the pic of Jackie and Charles forever!

I think the idea of "Greetings from Georgia" was genius! You got some terrific pictures of the kids!

Thanks! We had fun celebrating Halloween. It made me a bit sad to pack up the Halloween decorations yesterday.

I can't wait to send out the cards! I keep pulling them out to peek at them. LOL!

I had to laugh at you up on that chair cutting the pumpkin. :lmao: I would have have been up there too.

Looks like you had a great time with cookies and pumpkins.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to you, too, Pat! Our table sits high up and with the pumpkin as big as it was, there was no other way. LOL!

Woo Hoo! :wave2: :bday:party: I'm a day late, but I did get ya on FB yesterday. Hope it was a great day!

Jackie, I'm so happy that you loved all your gifts!! You truly deserve them!!

Thank you! :goodvibes

Your family is always so festive and into the holidays! I can't wait to have kids of my own...I may just steal some of your traditions, including the pumpkin carving! You're so funny, standing on the chair to cut the top of the pumpkin

Thanks -- steal/borrow away! I love the holidays!

I started a Disneymoon PTR today! If you're interested, pop on over!
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2825619

Headed over there this morning after I finish these replies.

Jackie- love the account of the day. It really reminds me of the drama we go through and for some reason I keep up the traditions... :confused3 :rotfl:

 I know! There is always drama, but then, I come to find out that the kids really look forward to things like that. This year, I had planned on just going to our local farmers' market to get pumpkins, but then, I overheard Chelsea talking to her friend. She was shocked they had gotten their pumpkins from Walmart and said, "But half the fun is going to the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin!" At that point, I realized we needed to make the trek out to the pumpkin farm even if the kids were older.

(We went to our annual pumpkin farm destination two weeks ago--it was 80 degrees and everyone was miserable! Needless to say, no pumpkins because we were worried about them lasting. Then, yesterday, the day we could have picked up pumpkins, it snowed - five inches!)

I am still shaking my head over snow in October.

I love the pose of Chelsea!! I can't wait to see the actual Christmas card!

I really like how they turned out. I feel very good about actually getting picture cards done this year -- I usually just think about it, run out of time, and then get regular ones from Target.

Great cookies! I want some of your energy and patience!

I need more of it.

The pumpkins turned out great! :thumbsup2

I agree with Chelsea...I don't like the pumpkin goo either.

Our family has fun carving pumpkins too only I got mine at the local grocery store. No time to get to the pumpkin patch this year. :upsidedow

What an awesome idea for your Christmas cards!
I remember seeing cotton growing for the first time when I moved down south.
I was so excited...not something I had ever seen before. Very cool!
My son's kindergarten teacher gave me an angel tree ornament made of cotton that I still have to this day. I adore it! :goodvibes

The angel tree is such a cute idea! I love cotton fields -- they are just so pretty. They have finally started harvesting the ones on our morning drive. I wondered when it would be time to do that.

I'm a little late, but Jackie that smile on your face just warms my heart

Thank you MeMom - great job!:thumbsup2

Your pics of the kids with the pumpkins and in the cotton were very sweet! Love the family jack O'Lantern pics! Everyone did a great job looking like their pumpkins!

Thank you, Tammie! That picture of the family really captures their personalities. LOL!

Jackie, so glad you got your gift! MeMom did a great job picking out the gifts. I am glad you liked them.

Love the pumpkins and cookies!

What pretty fields of cotton.

Thank you, Erika! It was such a sweet gift from DIS town!

We had fun with the pumpkins and cookies.

Again, you amaze me with all of your creative family craft/food ideas!!

I always steal my ideas from other sources. LOL!

The witches are so cute, especially the witch-in-laws that you posted on facebook!

Michelle and I were having too much fun posing our cookies. LOL!

The pumpkin shot with them all looking like their pumpkin is priceless!! :rotfl:

I laugh every time I see Connor pretending to be a googly-eyed ghost. LOL!

Oh MeMom - what a story! I didn't know the whole backstory until now. I am so happy Jackie got her package without any drama on her end.

And I loved it! :goodvibes

Did you repost the picture? I saw the one on FB, but can't see anything at work. I did love the out takes for your Christmas card and I think the cotton field is a great idea!

Happy Halloween!

I did along with a closer pic of everything! Happy Halloween to you, too!

By all means!!! Mine came the day I was first driving on Highway 17 (first big road ever) and my mother and Aunt had me continue on over THAT bridge!!! What the heck were they thinking? ... ha-ha!

:lmao: Oh my! I cannot imagine driving over those bridges on the first day of driving!

Although, I must say the thrill of "Will I make it across alive?" is gone now with the new Ravenel bridge.

Oh MeMom bless you!! I'm so glad the package made it to Jackie!!

Jackie, glad you liked them!! :)

The kids pictures are darling!! :)

Thank you, Katie! I was so touched by the generosity of DIS Town! I smile every time I see my gifts from Zawadi!

I really love the outtakes from the Christmas Cards, can't wait to see the ONE.

I can't wait to get it in the mail to you! :goodvibes

I love all the Halloween things you do every year, I hope to be on the ball as a mom like you are!

I will tell you that it did take me several years to get into the groove of doing all those things. The first couple of years was pretty much about survival -- of both the kids and me.:hug: You can definitely ease into things. Although, I did start dressing them up for Halloween from the get-go. Chelsea was a clown on her first Halloween (along with her cousin -- my SIL and I matched them on purpose), and Connor was a dragon on his first Halloween. I should pull out those pictures. They always make me laugh.

catching up...

you are most welcome for the gift :goodvibes

MeMom you did a FAB job picking out some most beautiful pieces for her and what a story of getting it sent to her...makes it that much more special ;)

love the Pumpkin carving fun and cookies...looked fun and tasty too

also your comment about need to smell the Disney air...love it!

Thanks, Julie! We always enjoy our family get-togethers.

Yes, you know Disney air just smells different, and my lungs need to inhale some! :goodvibes:laughing:

Jackie, your family always does such fun things! :thumbsup2 I bet your cards will look great!

Thanks!

Chelsea always reminds me of my Morghan. They always have such "big ideas", don't they? I love the pumpkin carvings! Good job!

Yes, she does! She was quite put out that I wouldn't let her cart home the one big enough to be a carriage. :sad2:

JWould you mind sharing the sugar cookie recipe? I loved the Silly Symphony! :goodvibes

Yes, I will!

OK I did not even realize you had a TR going.:confused3 Now I need to get caught up (on 39 pages):scared1:

Hi!!! It's okay -- you're here now! :goodvibes

Finally got here at night to see your pumpkin pictures and they are all excellent. I love the picture of chelsea with her pumpkin, but that group shot is a hoot! :thumbsup2

Thanks! They are good sports when I pull out the camera.

I am soooo glad you liked the cookie recipie!!! It is a good one, my grandmother's!!! :goodvibes

Oh, yes! It is my go-to sugar cookie recipe now. It's even listed in my recipe book as Happydog's Sugar Cookie Recipe. Along with Happydog's eggnog and Happydog's Lemon Fizzies...:thumbsup2

Your Halloween pumpkin FAMILY is a riot! LOVE the photos!!! That was so much fun! You all looked like you had a great time... That pic of you and the pumpkin, standing above the big one just had me laughing... the cotton field photos : Lovely. :goodvibes

Thanks! We did have a good time, but we were definitely getting sillier and sillier as the night progressed...;)

My nose senses that Ms. Jackie is cooking up an update... or at least a ton of responses, seeing that green light, so I will be back to check it out later! OFF to do silly errands and go to a soccer game where I will freeze my tail off!!!! :rotfl:

Responses...not sure about an update yet. I need inspiration to strike.

I hope you didn't freeze too much at the soccer fields. Our season for middle school is creeping ever closer -- I start shivering every time I think about it.

:bday:party::bday:

Happy Birthday Jackie!!!!!

Thank you, Tracy!

Happy Birthday Jackie!

Thank you, Jen!

Happy Birthday Jackie party:

Thank you, Tammie!

I hope you are having a wonderful birthday!

Thank you!!! I loved the picture of Matilda and her Mickey bandaid you posted on MeMom's thread. So cute! I am glad she is back to her normal self.

Awww, that is so sweet. I want to see the pictures. I bet Connor was an adorable dragon. My mom always dressed my brother and I up too. I had some pretty awesome costumes growing up.

Happy happy Birthday Jackie!! Have a fantabulous day!!!

Thank you, Jen!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACKIE!!!

Thank you, Brook!

And catching up...
Vacation indecision--all such wonderful choices! I look forward to taking the ride with you as your decision is made!

We may actually be making baby steps toward a decision.

And I'm so glad you love the pieces! Enjoy and know your DIStown friends love you!!

Thank you so much, Brook! I love you guys, too!

MeMom, you did a great job of picking them out--and what a crazy hassle you went through! I will keep it in mind to tattoo future needed addresses to my arm though.

I am so glad it all turned out okay. :goodvibes

Happy Birthday Jackie! Enjoy your day:banana:

Thank you!

Happy Birthday Jackie!!:bday:party:

Thank you!

Loved the TR to Tybee. As always you make us all want to be there with you.
Loved the cottage, the pics of you in the big chair, the dolphins & sunset etc.

Thank you! We really enjoyed our Tybee trip!

I lost my Mom over 17 years ago. Over time it gets easier & I still talk to her in my own way. She will always be with me. I posted on your FB page when I heard but just wanted to mention again I am very sorry for your loss.

Thank you. Some days are harder than others -- yesterday was pretty emotional since she wasn't there for my birthday and she's the reason I have a birthday to begin with, you know (well, my dad contributed but you know what I mean LOL). My dad gave me a doll (a Scarlett O'Hara) -- my mom always gave us dolls as part of our presents on both birthdays and Christmas -- that my mom had bought and put away for my bday. That made me very sad. Anyway, I know this year's holidays will be hard. I am rambling now...

Love your idea for the Christmas cards. We are doing a photo pic also this year as I got great deals after Christmas last year on the cards where you slip the picture in.

Thank you! I am pretty proud of myself for actually doing them this year -- I usually just think about it until I run out of time. LOL!

Hope you have a great birthday & weekend.:goodvibes

Thank you!

Happy Birthday!!!

Thank you!

Happy birthday!!! party:

Thank you!

Woo Hoo! :wave2: :bday:party: I'm a day late, but I did get ya on FB yesterday. Hope it was a great day!

Thank you, Mary Ellen. My family did a good job trying to make the day special. :goodvibes

Awww, that is so sweet. I want to see the pictures. I bet Connor was an adorable dragon. My mom always dressed my brother and I up too. I had some pretty awesome costumes growing up.

I will have to pull them out. The first year with Connor as a dragon was the only year my two sorta matched -- Chelsea was a witch. After that, they always had very definite ideas about what they wanted to be -- for Chelsea it was often some variation of witch although she was Cinderella one year and a fairy and a medieval princess. It was usually a witch, though, and Connor was some sort of superhero/ninja/power ranger/jedi, etc. LOL!

Thank you for all my birthday wishes!

I wish I could share my birthday cake with you. Charles picked out a great cake from Publix! We have all thoroughly enjoyed eating it!

As far as trip plans, I think we may be creeping ever closer to some decisions.

The other morning in the car we were listening to Disney music and this happened…

Chelsea: I think I miss Disney.

Me: (trying very hard not to whoop with delight because you know how fickle teenagers can be) Me too.

Chelsea: I miss Tybee more, though.

Me: You had two beach trips last summer, so I am not feeling sorry for you. If we go anywhere this summer, it will be a Disney trip.

Chelsea: I guess I am okay with that. (She sounded more enthusiastic than the words might suggest.)

Me: Well, there are two sets of possible dates -- the end of May or we could go over the Fourth of July.

Chelsea: I want to go over the Fourth of July.

Connor agreed the Fourth would be the most fun.

So, it looks like the Fourth of July at WDW is the winner. Coupled with the fact that Anita and her family and Happydog and her family will be down there at the same time, the whole prospect has me dancing a happy jig!

MKFourthofJuly.jpg

EpcotFourthofJuly.jpg

I really want to rent points and stay at the Boardwalk. Before I got my hopes set on that, though, I figured I needed to clear something up with Charles.

Me: Are you afraid of clowns?

Charles: (looking at me like I had grown a second head) No, why would you ask me that?

Me: Well, I just needed to check because the pool at the Boardwalk has a giant clown head.

I thought it was a perfectly legitimate question. Some people are terrified of clowns, and I didn’t want the pool to end up being the deal breaker.

So, now I am looking into finding a reliable place/person from which to rent points. If I don’t find anything else, I may go through David’s Rentals, but at $13 a point, he is kinda pricey. However, even at that price, a standard studio will still be cheaper than a moderate room.

Fingers crossed and pixie dust that something pans out on that front.

I am so very excited for you!!! I'm not sure if the people I was going to go through in January are renting but one of my other DIS friends has rented from them before and they were very easy to deal with. PM me if you want their contact email.

I think 4th of July will be a fantastic trip time!:banana::banana:

Yay for trip plans! 4th of July is an awesome time to go. We are trying for Vero that week. I plan on spending three nights at WDW too. Our paths may cross. I have to wait till it is time to book to see what we can get. I am looking at Boardwalk, OKW, or AKV. Keep us posted on renting points! Glad you had a great birthday! The cake looks awesome.

YAYAYAYAYAYAYAAY!!! So excited for you!!!!!!! WOOT WOOT!!! Disney at 4th of July is going to be awesome!!!

OOOH love the BWV!!!!! You guys are going to love it there!!!!! Such a great resort and Location Location Location!!!!

So, it looks like the Fourth of July at WDW is the winner. Coupled with the fact that Anita and her family and Happydog and her family will be down there at the same time, the whole prospect has me dancing a happy jig!

The one time we don't go in July, you're gonna be there! :sad2:
We have to go early next summer because of the new school schedule, so we will have come and gone by the time you get there.

Maybe you guys can all go to the Poly beach webcam and give us some Fourth of July entertainment this time. :cool1: Sounds like a very entertaining crew is going to be there, for sure! :dance3:

I'n glad you have made a decision and now have something very much fun to look forward to and plan for. As far as renting points, I hope you come across something fabulous so that you can stay exactly where you want to. :thumbsup2 Jill very much wants to stay at Boardwalk, too, so I hope to make that happen for her on the tail end of a value trip one of these days. ::yes::

Have a peaceful Sunday!

Are you afraid of clowns? Jeez, I would have thought you'd know that about him by now! ;)

I hope you can find a good deal to rent points. I wish I had enough to share with you. But I'm not Anita! Although she always manages to use hers up! I'm always borrowing from next year's!

We're thinking about Boardwalk for October if we could get it - it's F&W, so it's going to be tough. Otherwise Wilderness because we'll be spending a lot of time at MK and Epcot. We'll book our AKL points at 11 months (which will be in a week!!!! and see what we can get at 7 months later.

4th of July with DIS friends sounds FANTASTIC!!!! I'm not much for WDW in summer, but that is one trip I'd do!!

Oooh Boardwalk for 4th of July..love the idea!! As do I love that other dis'ers will be there at the same time for some meets!

I LOVE the captions you put with your random questions, it makes me crack up everytime! :rotfl2:

Hurrah!! What a super exciting thing to have on the horizon. Fingers crossed it all works out! :goodvibes

Hooray for a July 4th trip to WDW!!

Love the clown question. We spent some time at the Boardwalk in '08 when we stayed at Beach Club. It was really nice. There's a nice bar/lounge up there.
