Does order of names matter on add-on

We just received our contract for an add on purchase and they have my husband listed first and me second. On our current contract it’s me first and husband second. I asked them to change it but they said it doesn’t matter, just that the names match. Can anyone confirm this? Last thing I need is a third member number because the order of names is wrong.

Yes I believe it does matter. You want it titled exactly the same because it will be the same membership number. There is a primary and that will be the first name listed. Tell them it needs to match your current membership.

I have two contracts reversed and in same membership. I just made sure my current membership number is on everything I signed.

Once I closed, I sent an email to MA just confirming it would be put that way.

There are definitely primary and co-purchasers because that’s how it shows our names on the DVC site. Just not sure it actually matters.

That’s what I’ve always heard, must be exact, so I’m taking that literal. They said they can change it if I want them to so I’m leaning that way just in case there was to be an issue.

Well I learned something! I guess I got some wrong info from my reseller that it didn't really matter.

The order of the names on the title does not matter. Despite always submitting with my name first, I’ve had title companies put my husband’s name first so our deeds are a mix of whose name appears first. It has not mattered. What matters is the names must match - so if you use a middle initial or name it must be on all deeds - and it must be the same type (joint tenancy, etc).

when I bought one of my add ons the names were reversed but it didn't matter at all. I'm pretty sure the order doesn't matter, just that the names are exactly the same.
