I have a trip planned for the beginning of December and would like to use the online reservation system. Does it work well, or should I still call to make the reservations. I would hate to get there and have a problem.....Also, I have a 2 year old who is not on the dining plan with us. Do I still make the reservations for a party of 5 or should I make it for 4? I think the last time we went with a 2 year old, they still wanted to count her in the reservation even though she wasn't on the meal plan. Is that right? Thanks for the help.;)

Hasn't changed, make the adr for 5, since there will be 5 bodies at the table :)

Online works fine, go ahead and make them online. It is very easy and the system also will show what is available during the time range

Another point to consider is that online is available one hour before the phones, so that can give you a leg up on those calling in.

i always print a copy from Disney's website showing the confirmation #'s too. In April we showed for our 5p Kona reservation and the CM at the podium could not find us. Long story short they sat us but then we spoke to the manager. Luckily I carry my printed list from Disney with me. This helped the manager confirm that all of our other reservations were just fine. Not sure what happened with this particular one but we have never had issues making them online and not being there with the exception of the instance :)

I used online for last year's xmas week trip and it worked great, so I also did it for 12/26-12/30/10 trip for this year. I was able to do this all online and got email confirmations for them all. I was actually able to make the first night's adr on June 19(we are staying at AKLV). The system asked for reservation number and then allowed me to make them before the 180 days. (Other threads talk about this). I had no problem using the online ones last year and do not anticipate a problem this year..I have all the confirmation numbers and email. and check frequently on the website to make sure they are all there under my reservations.

Every person in the party counts including toddlers and infants because they need to allow room for a high chair.

I prefer the online system to calling. If you're at your 180 day mark you have an hour's head start over calling in. For the rest of the time I can get online any time of day or night. No phone trees to go through or phone charges or being on hold. If the system is down, I can easily try later. And I get an instant confirmation number that I can print out.

Start making those reservations now as the ADR system is already booking up to the end of the first week in January 2011.
The early December 2010 dates have been available for people to book for over a month now.

Get cracking!
