Does online booking work well if you have to borrow?

I am going to need to make a 7 month window booking at Aulani that will use 441 points. I will need to use both current and next use year points. How does that work when you use both current and borrowed for multiple contracts???? I would need to borrow from all 3 of our contracts plus use my remaining current use year points.

My question is....Will I be able to do this online?

Yes, you can borrow points from multiple contracts for one reservation. This of course assumes your multiple contracts are under one membership number.

I suggest trying a booking now. You can always try booking a reservation, including borrowing, and until you click "ok" on the final screen, none of the borrowing transactions are final. The advantage of trying it now, for a booking you don't plan to finalize, is that you'll be more familiar with the screens you will see when you're doing this for the reservation you care about.

Take your time, and read the instructions in the online booking tool. I thought they did a remarkable job making this relatively complex process easy.

I agree with Brian. They made it wonderfully simple to make reservations. As long as all of your points are in the same contract number, a screen will pop up asking which points you want to use. You can choose banked, current, or borrowed from any contracts that are listed. As you choose points, the balance needed will reflect the changes. You confirm before you book to ensure everything is correct.

Not that MS isn't great, but I prefer doing it myself so I can see that everything is being taken out correctly.

We booked a trip last fall, and while verbally using the correct points, the MS CM somehow on the computer used the wrong points. Instead of calling MS to reallocate and make a mess, we booked our anniversary getaway for May online. There, I straightened things out myself!

As long as they are one master contract and not different member IDs. When I made my 9 night reservation for BLT for October, I had seven nights with one membership and two with the other. I didn't transfer the points because I had to borrow points. So I made two separate reservations, one for seven nights and one for two nights because I could only use one membership at a time.

We have multiple contracts at multiple resorts and ran into a problem booking online. We have points available in Aulani current use year, but did not want to use those as they will be banked and used next year toward a grandvilla. We wanted to borrow on other resort contracts (7 month window) and the online default is to first use current year before borrowing. I had to call MS.

I did go online and start a bogus reservation to see how it would work. You guys were right, the screens are very good and I could easily check exactly what I wanted to do with each of the contracts. THANKS! I chose a date exactly 7 months from today, so now I know how it will work when I get to my actual 7 month booking window.

I'll bet that you are getting excited about this reservation, Diane. I know that it has been a long time in the planning and now that the 7 month window is almost here, the trip must seem closer! Wish I had a Hawaii trip to anticipate! Good luck with your reservation.

Jean, it's been a long time since our last Hawaii trip...nine years, in fact. I'm excited to show our adult kids all the fun things there are in Hawaii before I'm too old to think they are fun anymore!
