Does NWA pre-book seats?

I am pricing air for our July trip. The best so far is $197 out of Detroit to MCO (I would love to fly out of Toledo but it costs $50 more each, and there are 5 of us). This is a non-stop on NWA. If I book on their website, can I book my seating? I would at least like to have 2 and 3 together.

We've flown nwa several times and we could pre-select our seats. I think it is 90 days in advance. Have you looked at spirit? They have some good deals now (126 rt), I've never flown them but I'm considering it for our next trip.

I can't believe I've never flown NWA before. Flights out of Detroit are $60 cheaper each ticket than Toledo, so we are saving $300--even if we get a hotel room the night before and park the car there, we are still saving money.

I booked my NWA flight about a mounth ago out of Indy ($176) using travelocity for the first time. It was real easy. At one point in the process, a seating chart comes on the screen showing which seats are taken and which are still available. They have you type in the seat number you want. I forget if they tell you if it a guaranteed seat or is subject to change. I am Flying out on Feb 5th and hope the Flight attendants and pilots dont strike over this union contract mess!

You can book seats on NWA 90 days out. Keep in mind that when the seating opens up, many seats will be blocked out for WorldPerks customers. Those will be labeled so on the seating chart (front of plane, exit rows (ELITE status only) and over the wings.) Also, just because you have a seat assignment on NWA, don't ASSUME it will stay the same. I have flown NWA too many times to count where they have switched equipment, combined flights, etc. and my original seat assignment has disappeared.

Go back to nwa.com and on the bottom right hand corner of the home page you can enter your confirmation number and the last name used to book the itinerary. On the next page you will be able to choose your seats, starting 90 days out.

NWA usually blocks the front half of the plane for their elite members. They will release them if not filled when you do online check-in. I did it last night when I did online check-in for my flight today. It was a 12 row CRJ, I moved from 8 to 4.

By the way, avoid the CRJ if you can. It was very cramped for a 2+ hour flight (PIT-MSP).

On my recent NWA flight that I booked more than 90 days in advance, I wasn't assigned any seats until 90 days before our flight. They had pre-assigned us seats all together in a row (seats A, B, C, D) when I went to change/view seat assignments at 90 days. I was able to change the assignments...although only a handful of seats were available.
