We are currently booked for a 1 BR Standard View at Kidani, when we booked I was too cheap to spend the points on a SV Veiw, well a couple weeks later (January) I decided to just spend the points and go with the SV well we have been waitlisted ever since....so this is what I am thinking

DVC has only booked a certain numer of rooms b/c they don't want to book more rooms then could possibly be ready (we arrive May 9th - 16th). So I am hoping that more rooms are ready to go right before it opens ad the rooms are released into inventory, and magicaly my waitlist comes through.
Is that crazy??? Or maybe just wishfull thinking.

I should of just booked the SV when I had the chance in January.

Ok so all you pro DVC'ers what are my odds???

At 30 days they're supposed to boot you from the waitlist unless you call again or set it up so they keep you there till 7 days out.

The question becomes not just will they release more rooms, but how many people are on the waitlist in front of you.

My personal experience-just in the last few weeks I've booked 5 nights (had to call a few times and waitlist a few of the days) in a SV view studio over memorial day weekend.

Anything is possible, but since you're trying to get a whole bunch of days in one shot, I'd say not too probable.

We're waiting for OKW for 5/7 and 5/10; we have reservations for 5/8-5/10, and 5/11-5/12....we called for the 7 day out window too but we're not too positive. We have backup rooms booked but we'd really rather use our points...and not have to check in 4 times.

You are past the 30 cancellation period so I wouldn't hold too much hope in getting your waitlist! OKW is lower in points and cancellation at this point are slim but good luck! I wanted OKW for the 1st week of June but Sun-Thu was all booked up, I ended up at BWV for the whole week!

I'm waiting for 1 night Savannah view studio, for May 24th for a friend and like you, I have a standard view booked for them. I've been waiting since the beginning of January. They've a bit more time until the 31 days out, so I'm not giving up hope for them. The rest of our party have savannah views, so I was hoping to be "fair" to everyone.

Anecdotally AKV sales appear to be relatively strong, and it has been a while since a declaration, but actual rooms ready for close in reservations may restrict it. I assume you requested the waitlists to last until 7 days out when you made them.

So no one thinks that DVC booked a minimal amount of rooms in case not all the rooms were ready for occupancy the first of May.

We've got a SV Jambo studio for June and have been on the WL for SV at Kidani since the first day of the 7-month window. No luck yet.
