Hello there fellow Disers! Hope you're all having a nice day.

My mother just told me that she had some vag-inal bleeding this morning and it's not her period. She said she'll go get tested soon but she will probably prolong it for a while. I know bleeding can mean many things but now my mind is just spinning and I can't concentrate on anything at all. She turned 38 today. I need some reassurances because I don't know WHAT I'll do if my mom has something serious.

Don't panic. There are a lot of different reasons that you can get unusual bleeding.

Let her know that you are feeling very worried and that you would appreciate her getting an appointment sooner rather than later because they can diagnose it quickly and rule out anything scary.

Embarrassing and definitely TMI but for the sake of putting your mind at ease. I had some bleeding from my bottom before. I didn't think it was much but my bf was concerned. Then one day i used the bathroom and there was a lot of bleeding so i booked a doctor's apt.

She asked me a few questions. Immediately ruled out anything extreme and said that she thought it was a slight tear that had a scab on it and that bleeding can occur. It should clear up within a week and it did.

I'd had a lot of bleeding that day because i'd taken some painkillers for my wisdom teeth and forgot that it thins your blood, lol.

My Dad had a heart attack last year so i get worried whenever he isn't feeling well. I find the best thing to do is talk about it xx

Your feelings of concern are completely normal. I wouldn't rush to anything like cancer. I'm glad she will be going in to get things checked out.

And cancer isn't a death sentence....my husband is a cancer survivor.

Thank you both so much. I just spoke to my mom about it and she said that I have nothing to worry about, and that things like this can happen sometimes to older women. She's going for a check up anyway, but my mind is a little more at ease now. Thanks again! :goodvibes

I agree with the others.

Hopefully she calls her Dr. and gets an appointment. These things can happen, especially at that age.

You are a caring daughter (or son);)
