really need to be making a bike siren that is "only 75% as loud as a police siren" at College for Kids this week?

You're the one that signed him up for it. You should of looked over all the activites. That thing would of been headed straight to the trash can if it was a surprise to me. I don't care for loud noises.

Geez, it only took 2.
I knew this class would be making it, however it was not his first choice. He didn't get into his first choice class.
I actually thought it was kind of funny and my son is THRILLED to be making it. I told him I'm going to sit on the front porch and use it when people are speeding on our street. :thumbsup2

LOL, it only took two...good thing I posted or it would have been only one.

My son made tons of interesting projects over the years. I think those sort of projects are great experiences and learning lessons. Everyone should know how to make something, learn how things work, etc...awesome!

Clearly tarring and feathering is in order. I'll be right back, don't go anywhere.

Oh, sorry I didn't read the whole first post. I thought your son was at the school, and he was personally from his own voice making the siren sound. My son does this, in the car. I had to tell him to stop because I thought the real police were behind me!
Not too sure I'd want a siren in my house either.

I suspect your neighbors would say no.
But what a hoot for your DS! Mine DS10 went to CSI for kids and investigated a "murder". I now have BLACK fingerprint dust all over my house! :sad2:

:rotfl: Sounds like a fun class though!
My dd12 is taking Genetics and Molecular Biology. Today they put pig intestines in a blender with meat tenderizer and Woolite ( :confused3 ) so they could extract DNA. Hmmm, glad she doesn't have homework! :lmao:

Shame on you, Ann, for letting your son do something interesting. May you punished for all of your days!

;) :rotfl2:

Would you please quit sqirming? This tar is expensive.

Miss Jasmine, can you be a doll and hold the bag of feathers while I finish this?

Cool.

You might check with the local police to get some guidance on using the siren. It may be fun, but not if her gets in trouble for using it. 75% is still pretty loud. The teachers may not even have thought of that.

Sure, no problem!

As for if the police would care or not...unless there are lights to go along with and the neighbors don't complain, it's not a big deal. :teeth:

Talk about squashing a child's creativity! Nice encouragement.

I think it's great any time a child is able to make something that works, what do you want a boy to make a nice quiet comb holder?

I will trade you a drum set, some tap shoes and a karoke machine for the siren. :smooth:

Sounds like a cool project to me. :thumbsup2

My parents made me to go a "Cartooning for Kids" camp and a "Frontier History" camp when I was a kid. I wish I'd been able to do something as cool as this.
