We have a stay coming up very soon. 2 nights. One is in a studio and one is in a 1 BR, because that's what was available on line.

If I call MS, is there any chance they have extra inventory the website wouldn't show because it is coming up very soon? Wondering if they have any one bedrooms hidden behind the counter they can move us to so we won't have to change rooms.

MS has the same availability that's on the website; so if you don't see it then they don't see it either.

We have run in to this same problem. When we checked in we asked them if they had one more night in a 1 bedroom so we didn't have to switch. They actually did have one maybe from a cancellation and gave it to us right then. They were very accommodating when we asked at check in and it worked out. And, the avaliablity did not show on the dvc website (I looked during the check in process). It does pay to ask!

Did you ask at the desk? Were they able to pull the points from your account?

Yes, we asked at the desk because we had been looking constantly online. Yes, they pulled the points right away and everything was fine. They could not have been nicer. It was a nice surprise because it was in March and it was spring break time.

I've called a few times with a 90% positive. Sometimes I take it but not when it means we have to change villas because they one they have available is accessible.

Some people cancel one day prior to check-in so I think the front desk could see those rooms. Hopefully you get a helpful person at check-in. GL!

Years ago I once got DVC to pull back a single night of inventory from the cash side. So it can be done but it's very rare they will. Better is to call day of and they should contact the resort to see if there is availability to switch your room. That's the best time for success.
