Does MNSSHP sell out early to mid October?

My question is exactly what it says on the tin, LOL!

We are staying at POR 27th Sept - Oct 11th. We have no plans to go to MNSSHP, it just never held any appeal for us.

But the kids we are going with might decide they want to go! Being from the UK, we don't really have Halloween traditions, but I think it might be fun for them to dress up and see the parades

Would it be too late to purchase tickets on the day or a few days in advance?

You should be fine. Historically, the nights that MNSSHP sells out fall between Oct 24th and Oct 31st.

Day of tickets costs more than if you buy them the day before, so keep that in mind. Last year, I believe that the Friday before Colombus Day weekend sold out and the two days around Halloween (including Halloween) sold out. Other than that, most of the nights never sold out. Keep in mind that there was a lot of hurricane issues involved last October too. So many of the locals just could not afford to attend. Disney sells the CMs discounted tickets for the off nights, pretty much the same nights that discounted tickets are available for AP holders and DVC members. So there is a possibility that tickets may be available, but for certain, the nights of October 27, 30 and 31, most likely will sell out, in advance.

Great, so we should be OK! I think we'll have decided by the 30th Sept... we'll probably go on the 6th which shouldn't be too busy from what I've heard!
