Does Mama Melrose's fill up quickly for Fantasmic packages?

Hi all-- I called yesterday on my 180 days out to make reservations for the Mama Melrose Fantasmic package, and was told they had no openings at all. Is that typical for this restaurant? They had plenty of room for both Hollywood and Vine and the Brown Derby, so I was surprised that MM had nothing.

Yes...but don't give up trying...I've gotten in with even 14 people once at 2 weeks out...because people change their minds and cancel the reservations. So keep trying.

IT has to be because I called the 1st mornings of my adr 180 out and with in a 15 minutes into the cal the only time I could get was a 3:30 ressie! So I took it and figured it could be a late lunch early dinner. I hope it is a really yummy meal!

It does fill up due to the Fantasmic package, but in my opinion...not for the food. We have dined there twice, and it was quite awful. But, I know there are others who enjoy it. I just wouldn't want to go back based on my experiences with the poor quality of food, and lousy service.

Keep trying! I didn't book the package at my 180+10 mark, but I just called this morning and was able to book at Mama Melrose, for a party of 8. Granted, I had to book 2 tables, at 2 different times, ( table of 4, 3:50, table of 4, 3:55), but I was able to do it. In my expereince, if you have an early enough ADR you are normally able to sit together. Good luck!

We find it does tend to fill up fast...we had problems this year with the original date we picked, but I think it had more to do with the fact that the first day we picked was part of the Night of Joy weekend at the Studios. We just chose a different date and got a 5:00 time which is what we wanted. I think it probably fills up fast for two reasons: 1) people get tired of buffets (and you couldn't pay us to eat at Hollywood & Vine after the last two experiences we had there) and 2) a lot of people don't want to use two credits per person at Brown Derby. We have always had a good meal at Mama Melrose's (a step above Olive Garden) and great service every time but one.

I had tried for a few previous trips to get MM. Didn't want to spend more on Brown Derby and hate Hollywood and Vine.

Remember, with the Fantasmic Package they book the earlier time slots, which is why the restaurant seems to fill up faster, according to CM Bambi.
