Does it matter WHERE you are seated in certain restaurants?

I have all of the ADR's in place, so no issue with where we're going to eat. But in reading TR's and reviews, I sometimes see mention of things like sitting in a main room, or something similar. Now I know that simply requesting to sit somewhere won't necessarily make it happen, but I'd at least like to know what to ask for, if there's preferred places in different restaurants where you get a "better" experience. If it helps, it will be me, DW, DD6 and DS3. All of the ADR's below are dinner:

1. 1900 Park Fare
2. Plaza
3. Akershus
4. Sci-Fi
5. CRT
6. Garden Grill/Biergarten (haven't decided which one yet)
7. Hoop-De-Do (we're in Cat 1)

only one i know is sci-fi, they have some patio like tables in the back and the car/tables the cars are much more fun

Garden Grill- ask to be seated in a lower level booth. This allows for better views of The Land attraction and it feels nearly private. Also, the backdrop for your character pictures will be better...no other guests in the background. :thumbsup2

You just have to realize that unless you have a very early ADR, or are going at a very slow time of year (ie:NOT free dining), then you may not have any choice in where you are seated.

Much of the time the emphasis for special seating revolves around window seats or outdoor seating for the views (especially for Wishes/Illuminations).

None of your selected restaurants, with the possible exception of Garden Grill and Sci fi have 'preferred' areas. Even with sci fi, the picnic style tables are usually the ones left for walkups or are the last ones filled.

At most of those listed, it truly doesn't matter where you sit. A table by the window at CRT might be nice, but those are few and the focus there is really inward anyway. At Garden Grill we were seated on the upper level; perhaps next time I'll ask if a lower level table is available.

Two places where it definitely matters to me: At San Angel Inn, there are tables tucked away into an area formerly serving as a waiting area. It's out of the way and you can't really see the river from there. Once, eating at Alfredo's, we were seated in a back dining room. This one had all the ambiance of a hotel banquet hall and the entertainers made a token visit only after we complained to our waiter. If I found myself seated at either of those two areas, I would politely ask to wait until a table in the main dining room opened up, and if that's not possible, would walk.

We had a late dinner ressie at CRT last year (8:10 p.m.) and we sat by the window which had a cool view of lights at night. The other bonus was that when we were done (15 minutes before Wishes), we walked outside to find us roped IN the castle area and got to literally stand right at the entrance to the castle and saw Tink fly right over us. Then we walked down to the end of the walkway INSIDE the rope and watched Wishes with NOBODY touching us. We were like superstars in front of thousands of people out there! It was awesome!

1. 1900 Park Fare - The main dining room is very loud and busy but the back one is much quieter

2. Plaza - its just one round smaller restaurant, no bad seat here

3. Akershus - we have been here twice for the first seating breakfast and we have sat to the immediate left as you walk in, almost in front of the kitchen door...this ws great for us because there is a wooden door that the Princesses come out of and we get to see them first

4. Sci-Fi - not a bad location in the entire place

5. Biergarten - we sat on the same level as the buffet, the dance floor is lower and there is a raised section about the buffet, but only by a few steps or so. to the left of the dance floor with a great view and easy access to buffet
