Does it matter when you purchase the photo package?

I've decided to buy the all digital photo package for our cruise in late August. Does it matter when I buy it as long as it is before we get on board? For some reason, I have this "60 days prior" rule in my head and I'm not sure why.

I don't want to be talked out of buying it, but I am wondering if it makes any difference at all when you purchase it before the cruise. The website is fairly unhelpful in answering this question. Thanks!

Hi,

I can say for the Disney Wonder. My family has gotten all digital photo and photo CD package. My family has bought the package shortly after we got on board. I think you can buy the photo package before you get on-board but my family has never done that because we prefer to talk to a cast member on board to make sure we are buying the right thing and not something we do not want to purchase. I not sure if it is the same cutoff time as the in-room gifts. I would recommend trying to buy the photo package sooner than later. I am unsure about the "60 days prior rule". I would also recommend to call Disney Cruise lin if you have any further questions or concerns. Enjoy your cruise in August and have a great time.

I am pretty sure it does not matter as long as you buy it in the window they have.

When you go to the site you can see the dropdown of all the cruises one can currently buy the package for so you get an idea of what the date range is. For example, today you can buy for ~June 13 to end of August sailings.

Note that unless they have changed their policy, if you buy in advance but once on board you decide you do not want it (e.g. the pics are horrible) you can cancel and get a refund.

Also, BRING A PRINTED COPY OF YOUR RECEIPT. And on board one day verify with them that they have you recorded as having ordered. Both the cruises we pre-ordered there were problems and the printed copy of the receipt was needed to solve it.

I bought the USB three days before our cruise and took advantage of the discount. It is priced higher if you buy onboard, and as Starwind posted, I think you can cancel onboard if you decide you don't like the pictures or opt for another package.

And it's all USB now? No CD right? that makes a difference in what computer I would bring to double check the photos. Thanks!

This is from the my cruisephotos website: *Orders must be placed 24 hours before 12:00am of your first sailing day. No orders can be placed past this time. E.g If your sailing is on a Saturday you must place an order before midnight Thursday. And they do list the product as photo USB.....but I have no personal experience with this.

Hope this helps :)

I just preordered mine on May 6 and it indicates a CD. I wonder why some are CDs and some are USB. I'd rather have a USB, honestly.

I'm pretty sure mine said CD when I pre bought it for my December 2015 cruise. It was actually a USB. Don't worry what to bring to double check your photos because you don't get the USB until the morning as you disembark from the ship. I didn't actually check my USB until I got home over a week later.
