I have a huge daylily that REALLY needs to be split this fall - but I just don't have the heart to do it. The thing is giant - about 6 feet across - but I can't bring myself to split it. I know it would be best for the plant, and I would have 2 gorgeous lillies next year, but I cringe at the thought of sticking that shovel right thru it.
I also have 2 mums that have about had it. They have spread and are really sad looking - very sparse. I know I should dig those up and toss them - but they are alive and it kills me to do it. Oy. Does anyone else have problems splitting or tossing?
