Does Hollywood Studios still "soft" open early?

It has been several years since we have rope dropped HS. The park used to open about 30 minutes early. Is this still the case? If so, how early do they open the park? And how are the cowds at rope drop? Thank you.

On non-EMH mornings, they'll open the touchpoints for Breakfast Guests and Star Wars Guided Tour Guests only around 8am. Around 8:30 is when they'll open for everyone else, but still hold them at the end of the Trolley Car Cafe. Then it depends on the attractions status and how busy Hollywood Blvd. is becoming. (For instance they won't open early if RnRC isn't open yet, they usually wait until everything is ready.) I've seen them open at 8:45, up to 9:00, and everything in between.

EDIT: Today they opened at 8:40, probably because of the rain (not having guests get rained on while waiting on Hollywood Blvd.)

Two weeks ago they let us in the park at about 8:30 give or take 5 mins. We were doing Jedi Training so booked over there to do that. We had about a 15 min wait. When we got out they were just letting the RD people go and opening the rides. It was probably 8:50. We arrived at 8:10 and were about 15 families back from the tapstiles.
