I made a reservation at HIFS as a backup to my CBR until I find out where Disney might put us. In my email confirmation, it said they have some "house rules" to make the stay enjoyable, and one rule is that kids FOUR and under need to wear swimpants in the pool!! Well, I will tell you, my 3.5 year-old will REFUSE to wear anything resembling a diaper. He does, however, insist on wearing underwear under his bathing suit--do you think that would be OK?? I understand the need for swimpants for kids who are not potty trained, but the majority of 4 y/o's are, and I bet they won't like being put into a swimming diaper. So, is it really true? And to they check?? I am usually a person who follows the rules, no questions asked, but this time I feel it is ridiculous to "degrade" a potty-trained child by forcing them into a swimming diaper.

We were at the HIFS this July for 5 nights and I did buy the swim pants for my 23 month old but I would not if he was 31/2 and potty trained. I don't think they will say anything to you. I saw many young kids, mostly toddlers who were wearing the swim diapers even though they say those aren't acceptable. The swim pants do look like bathing suits though , they're kida cute.

I think your child should have to wear swimpants unless they are completely potty trained, zero accidents. While we were at the HIFS a child had an accident in the pool and we all had to vacate so the pool could be cleaned and chemicals added. We were unable to use the pool for about 3 hours. I personally think the parent of the child not wearing the swimpants shoud have been fined a fee for the additional chemicals and time to clean up after someone who was breaking the rules. I understand that accidents do happen....... That is why children under 4 have to wear swim diapers.. Yes, some adults should have to wear them too..:D

If your child will wear pull ups then it will be no problem.

And you can tell your Child it is the rule to swim! No swim pants,no swimming! You are sorry but thats the rules of the hotel. And use this situation to teach that all life has rules even if you don't think it is fair. As life isn't fair.

Your child is probably totally potty trained, but, the rule is there because even the best potty trained child loves to pee in the pool.
And, do you really want that? Underware does not cut it.
