Does Harmony always book up so fast?

Today is my 180 (yea!) and my TA called to book Harmony for my kids. She was able to get a spot for my baby's first haircut but there were NO openings for the big kids. She tried both days we will be in MK and there was only ONE other open time slot, four hours after the first appointment.

I didn't think it was that terribly popular to be completely booked up right at 180. Is this normal? Or should I keep calling and trying?

Keep calling and trying. I ran into a similar problem for DS's first haircut. It was a last minute trip, though so I called everyday for about three weeks. Finally while we were on the ME they had an opening at 2pm! (People tend to cancel at the 24 hour mark as they are given an email reminding them.)

2pm wasn't ideal for our schedule, but I still booked it. At Rope Drop we headed straight to the Barbershop. We were second in line. I explained that we had a reservation for 2pm, but "would love to go now, if possible?". They said of course and we got the hair cut (which was really special, by the way). There were other families there that did not have reservations at all that were also being accommodated.

I'd recommend continuing to try on the phone, but also just going at RD. Worked for us! (Disclaimer: this was a very slow day in September... that might make a difference...?)

We are going in September as well... I'll keep calling and trying. It just seems crazy to me that at 180 there are only two open time slots at all! Hopefully we can sort it out. I mean, if the big kids can't get haircuts it's not the end of the world. I just thought it would be fun since we'd already be there. THe priority is baby's first haircut and at least we got that!

I think that's odd too... I get the feeling that they purposefully under book-- especially with the way they treated us (and the walk-ins) like it was no problem at all (unlike at the restaurants where it's a huge deal or impossible to walk-in). The lady on the phone told me that they do NOT allow walk-ins... but the CMs at HBS were more than happy to accommodate. Another tale of WDW departments telling different "facts"!

I'm sure it will all work out and I'm glad you got the first hair cut appt... bring tissues! ;)

I live locally and have an AP so I can pretty much get to the park without much notice. I called Friday night to get an appointment for my DD for a weekend day. They didn't have anything for this past weekend but I was offered at 5pm for next Saturday or a 9:15am for next Sunday. I took the Sunday. (And this is during the busy Spring Break time of year.) Just keep trying. :)

Keep in mind that there are only 3 seats and also they take walk ins.
I feel like they make a special effort to accomodate first haircuts maybe only retaining 1 chair for rolling appointments and walk in business.
I did my son's 1st cut there in september, right after labor day and Harmony was swamped with people both with and without appointments.
I'd just keep trying and know that you could at least do a walk up.

Thanks everyone. I think we will try to get at least one more and try to get the third kid in as a walk up. If it works great, if not, oh well. It won't make or break our trip. It'd just be nice.

We stopped in to Harmony last early August for dd8. She wanted a trim and a glittery pony (she's never been at all interested in BBB.) We walked in, put our name on the list and she was in the chair within 10 minutes. And again, this was in AUGUST - super busy. I wouldn't worry too much about getting in. BBB - totally different story than Harmony. We were very happy with the experience:
