Does going during June really suck?

We have only been in June. And I still go back. It can be HOT. One summer it was 100 degrees with a feels like even higher. Mickey bars melted before we could the first bite - literally! However, other June times weren't as bad but still at least 90.
As far as crowds, they aren't too bad but it is still busy and you are still waiting 1+hours for headliners. If you have a good plan (and I mean well researched like using Touring Plans) and stick to it, you can really maximize your time and reduce your wait times. We followed a plan one year pretty well and felt like we never waited. However, if you try to wing, even in early June with the heat, you may not have as good of a time. You most definitely want to make your dining reservations at 180 days. It is busy enough that restaurants will fill up.

I don't think going to DisneyWorld suck and I am happy to go anytime of the year

:)

It will be our first end of June trip and while I am disappointed that we can't go in October anymore (school holidays) I can see the positive! Less risk of headliners being refurbed, long operating hours, both water parks open.

I can't wait!

We went 6/10-18. The weather was beautiful (not too hot at all)! Crowds were fine. We loved it so much we plan to go that time again someday.

It did rain but it never interfered with what we were doing.

We always go the first of June and we've never found it to be that bad crowd wise. It is hot, but we're from Alabama, so we're used to that. We go to a park in the morning, then take a long midday break at the pool and head back in the evening.

We've been going in June for a few years now. This past year was a lot rainier than usual, but I never thought the crowds were super bad. I actually love the super long days and the warm nights. Up here in Ohio the winter just seems to go on forever and summer takes forever to get here so that warm weather is just great. I love getting to wear shorts into the evening without being cold. You will love the long days. Just find your happy time each day and use those fast passes.

How about the end of May? Same thing?

This past year I heard that end of May (Memorial Day) was really busy and June was rather quiet. Next year, who knows!

We've been in June 3 times. Crowds are okay, but the heat does wear you down. Surprisingly, we've encountered very little rain.

We have been the beginning of June and the end of June. The beginning was far less crowded. Weather-wise it is hot, it's Florida :) You should be fine! You'll have a great time!

We arrived in the middle of the second week of June this year and left in the middle of the third week. Crowds were not bad at all. The MK closed at 10:00 PM the second week and at 11:00 PM the third week. We were able to extra FPs fairly easily.

Because of my schedule as a preschool teacher, and my son's college schedule, it looks like the trip that I'm trying to talk my husband into will need to fall between May 25th and August 21st. Is the beginning of June typically better or worse than the beginning of August crowd-wise? How about rain? Threat of hurricanes?

Is it best to start after Memorial Day weekend or is that weekend not too bad? I'm thinking that would give my husband (and perhaps older children if they want to join us) an extra day of vacation, since it's a Monday holiday where they work.

We were always fall people until dd got into high school. Plus she wanted to go for her bday (June). So we went and were pleasantly surprised. It was hot but we have been there in Sept when it was in the 90s. We take neck coolers and spray misters. June crowds were manageable; FP's are your friend. We went again this past June and enjoyed it however it was quite rainy this time. Some severe storms in the afternoon but we muddled through.

We've been going the first week of June for a while now and the crowds have been more manageable than when we visit during the first week of December! The weather is usually decent too, but this past June was wacky. We had torrential downpours for hours upon hours upon hours; it was definitely not your average summer shower.

We have gone, April, May, June, July and August and always have a fab time! It truly is all about the planning. Also beware and plan based on the warm weather. Never had a "bad" trip!

So I've been in June, July and September. I would not pick those months on my own (there for other reasons) because I found them all to be too hot. I did get lucky that the July trip was during an extra rainy/stormy month and so it actually was cooler at night when I went to the parks after I was done with games for the day but it was still not great. The June trip was last year and I bought two days of tickets to visit around a conference. The day I had planned to spend all day at the park lasted all of 2.5 hours and I was done. Didn't even care about losing the value of the ticket. I just hated being in the parks.

There are undoubtedly some downsides to June. While not everyone will be out of school yet, the crowd levels will be higher than times when kids are clearly all in school and because it's Florida in June, it's going to be warm.

But with that being said, I'm a fan of summer trips for other reasons, most notably that the park hours are longer. Many of my favorite days in the parks have been days when the park closed at 11 PM or midnight and EMH went into the wee hours of the morning. Trips where the parks are closed by 9 PM can sometimes be a bummer since it never really gets late enough for the crowd levels to drop much and you deal with crazy hordes of people all leaving at once after the nighttime spectaculars.

They key, like many others have said, is to have a plan and go in with proper expectations, such as that it's going to be pretty hot more than likely and the crowd levels might jump seemingly randomly while you're there as more and more kids get out of school.

When the kids were at home, we always went in the summer and the first 2 weeks of June were our favorite to go. The crowds weren't bad and the hours were longer. They weren't as hot as August were.

We often go during June. It's not too bad. I definitely noticed it being less crowded than in previous years when we went last year and this year

We went the first week in June 2013 and had a great time. The weather was nice. I remember it wasn't too hot until our last day when we were loading the car, it felt very humid. We had one day where it rained the whole morning and other days when it rained in the afternoon for a little while. It was a little more crowded than when we went in September and November, but very manageable.

We went in October 2015 and I though the crowds were worse then. When it came to planning a trip in 2018, I had to choose first week of June when DD gets out of school or over her fall break in October. We are booked at BWV May 29-June 5, and I hope we have the same great experience we had in 2013.
