Does going during June really suck?

It will not suck. It will be more crowded than you are used to. It will prob be hot. There will prob be thunderstorms. I tour differently in the summer months. The midday pool break is usually a must, but park hours are usually longer so you don't miss any "park time." Find the ac breaks in park...sadly Ellen's energy is now gone, that was a great one...but you can still find a longish ride/show to sit through.

Can you please share some tips @daae3 regarding how to plan for summer months?

my tips, for what they are worth, I have avoided the summer months my last few trips, but these should still apply
1) Rope drop your park of the day. Plan a sit down lunch.
2) Take a mid day break. I stopped calling it a pool break cause really the purpose was to get out of the sun and into the AC
3) Take extra clothes. Esp. Socks. Much nicer to put on dry non sweaty clothes to go back to the park
4) Go back after your break! Check park hours and take advantage of late night hours.
5) know your group. My family has a few people that do not like waiting in long lines, but as long as the line moves, they are ok. If you need to ride a slow loading ride, do it in the first few hours of your day
6) Nap/Cool spots MK- Hall of Presidents, Carousel of Progress, Philharmagic. Epcot- America- enjoy the voices of Liberty and the show! France,Canada and China for the movies. RIP Ellen. DHS- not sure what is still open tbh...AK- the shows.
7) Have a great trip!

I'm hoping June will be a great month this will be our first time going at this time. Our dates are June 3rd - June 8th.

I'm a teacher so summer is our only option. We went the first week of June last year and had an amazing trip. Yes, it was hot and humid but not oppressive and nothing we couldn't deal with. It really wasn't that crowded for the first half of our trip. We never waited more than 20 minutes for anything and I was able to get 6 SDFP on our first MK day, crowds picked up at the end of the week, but nothing crazy. We're booked June 1-10 next year.

We went at the end of May/beginning of June this year. The crowds were totally manageable. We had hoppers and visited the AM EMH park about half the time, would leave around 12-1 for swimming and a nap before the evening entertainment and PM EMH, where it fit. The rain foiled more than a few of our plans. Some don't mind slogging through that stuff throughout their vacation. We did it a few times and we stayed at the the resort a few times. It rained every afternoon and would last for at least a 2-3 hours...often longer. I know that a friend of mine had to watch HEA in the rain that week and it interfered with a dessert party she had planned, along with slogging on a daily basis. YCCL was soo worth it that week!

Thanks you! I was thinking about booking TS at 11:30 in the theme parks so it can cool us down little but the suggestion for indoor attraction will help with that too.

The crowds are not too bad. Was there June 3-11. it was never hot during that time either with all the rain.
I agree with you. We were also there that week. It wasn't too crowded... It wasn't dead but not packed. It rained almost the whole week which wasn't ideal, but it certainly helped with the heat!

We enjoyed that time of year and would go back in June again.

Now next year we're going the last week of June/first week of July. THAT might not be as fun.

It will absolutely not suck based on the time of year. We went last June from about June 24th to July 2nd because that was the only time which worked for everyone, and I thought it would be pretty miserable.

While a couple of times the heat was unbearable and the crowds inhibited enjoyment; I would say it was no better or worse than other times such as early May or late August.

Plan, plan, plan (per usual for a WDW vacation) and it should be great!
