Does Gate Checking a stroller cost money??

Frontier says on their website that you can gate check a stroller, but will there be a fee?

THe heads up I will give you is that they will not cover damage at gate check. We had a Dis on their airline crush a Peg preggo and no coverage as it was not checked luggage. Their trip insurance covered but was a pain....

We've gate checked many, many times.I would wheel DS down the ramp and out he'd pop, flip stroller shut, secure with stroller clip, and walk onto the plane. I always get the gate check hot pink tag as soon as we get to the gate area. That way no stress. I few times the cupholder bar would be loose but we'd just snap it back in place (graco).

Something to keep in mind is that it takes a few extra minutes to bring up all the gate checked items. For that reason when we land we relax, let everyone in a hurry off before us, and then go out to pick up the stroller. They have always had it waiting right as you get off the plane, only 4 or 5 steps off the plane, still in the connecting hall tube thing.
