Heard rumblings that + is not as good as old fast pass system when crowds are large.

Basically that your wait time in the new fast pass plus lane is much longer than under the old system when there are big crowds in the park.

Can anyone share some first hand experience?

Thanks!

I really dislike FP+ but I think its most effective during the busier crowds. It allows you to ensure you have 3 FPs, I wont say for the rides you most want because in Epcot and HS that's a load of crap. But hey, you have 3 rides reserved, which means you can avoid the SB lines for those 3, better than nothing and better than battling for FPs on a 9 or 10 day.

As for the FP return lines, there have been some issues with this, very long FP return lines, though people say they move very very quickly and even the worst are only 15 or 20 mins ... generally speaking.

We were there a couple weeks ago, huge spring break crowds (the busiest I have ever seen WDW!). FP+ worked great. Standby waits were insane within an hour of park opening- 1-2 hours for all headliners, and RnRC was at 200 minutes! We never waited more than10 minutes with FP, even when the line to scan bands looks long. It always moved fast. We didn't have much luck changing or adding FP, they were booking up pretty quick. But we were glad to have the ones we did for sure!

We've been twice now with peak times, and LOVED FP+! Rode everything, even Soarin, and TSMM, which would have been out of FP- during the recent crowds.

Fastpass+ will be pretty quick and efficient on any day, busy or not. Standby lines however, tend to be much much worse than with legacy fastpass, even on more minor attractions. This is due to increased number of fastpass users, attractions that did not and have never needed fastpass now having it, and the very high priority given to fastpass lines over standby at all attractions.

And don't forget, fastpass+ times now start at park opening, not 30 to 40 minutes later as with legacy fastpass. Meaning rope drop crowds now have to compete with fastpass users who get priority immediately at park opening.

We did the magic kingdom at rope drop last weekend and pretty much saw everything we meant to see with the exception of Peter Pan which was down most of the day.

Unfortunately, we were still holding out for Peter Pan to reopen and essentially lost our Fast Pass as it reverted to a "use at any of these attractions" fastpass which were mostly rides with short waits anyways. If I would have known that's how it worked I would have switched the fast pass for something else before that happened.

We had a 4 PM fast pass for Space Mountain and walked right in just as fast as we did with regular fast pass.

I would say that a lot of the kinks have ironed out, other than the distinct disadvantage of only getting three. lol
