Does everyone on the DDP have to use their credits?

DH and I will both have the DDP. If we both dine at a TS restaurant, can only one of us use a dining credit and the other just order ala carte off the menu?
Occasionally, I have gallbladder issues which prevent me from eating a full meal. If need be, I would like to just be able to order a bowl of soup and save the TS credit for another meal. Thanks for your help!

Yes you can, but you need to tell your server when he or she asks, "Are you using the dining plan?" You tell the server that your husband will be using a dining credit and you'll be paying out of pocket.

The dining plan might be a bad idea for you if you won't be able to use all your dining credits.

Yes. Just tell the server that your husband is on the DP and that you will pay oop. They'll put your soup and drink on a ticket for you to pay and use a dining plan credit for your husband.

You can then use all the leftover credits to go to more restaurants, if you will not be ordering full meals; your husband can use the credits. Obviously this will only work at a la carte restaurants, at buffets and fixed price restaurants you would be paying full price anyway.

Thanks for your help.
I thought if we were able to save a few credits then maybe we could swing a couple of signiture dining meals. That would really make DH happy!
