Does everyone in the room have to be on DDP?

I'd rather pay for DDP for my husband and I and let my picky 12 year old daughter order from children's menu out of pocket. I thought I read somewhere that we'd all have to buy the plan. True?

I think that's the key to how the plan is profitable for Disney, requiring it for all people in the room and for all nights.

We just got back yesterday from a Grand Gathering of 14. Everyone in the same room must be on the plan. For instance...my wife and 2 children and I were in our own room. We were on the plan. Everyone else was in a 3 bedroom villa. Since one family in the villa did not want to be on it, no one could be on it. But, we were all part of the same Grand Gathering. Hope this helps.

Your 12 year old daughter will have to pay adult pricing at buffets, all you care to eat restaurants, dinner shows and dinner packages. The dining plan makes sense if you're planning on dining in those restaurants. Technically the kids menu is limited to kids under 10. Disney generally allows older kids, and even adults, to order from the kids menu but a few posters were charged an adult price.

Your daughter will have an adult plan, you could use her credits for two credit meals or for extra TS meals.
