does everyone in party need AP for the rate?

We are going to WDW with family in December. DH and I would consider purchasing AP for ourselves if there are good hotel rates for AP holders and the math works out. But, we are booking a total of 3 rooms for everyone in our party. Does everyone have to purchase an AP, or can we get the AP rate for three rooms if we put it all on one reservation?

Unless there are new rules, only one AP is necessary, and up to three rooms can be booked at the AP rate.

One AP holder can book up to 3 rooms with the same AP discount.
