Hi. I was wondering if anyone could help me with this question? We would like to purchase the dining plan for 3 out of the 4 of us when we go. My daughter is 10 and we do not feel that it is worth buying it for her at the adult price, because she eats off the kids menu. I know that you normally have to purchase it for all members of your party, however, we will not be buying park hopper tickets for her (We have 8 days worth of old tickets). Is it possible to do this since we are only purchasing tickets for 3 of us? We would rather pay OOP for her meals since she doesn't eat much that is not on the children's menu. Thanks for any help you can give!

Everyone in your party has to be on the dining plan, which will match the number of nights at your resort.

You could get it, then share some meals & save her credits for more places or even go to a sign. restaurant.

The only way around it is to NOT list her on your ressie, but then she wouldn't get a room key & would, therefore, not be eligible for EMH's.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't think of the EMH's. I would hate to waste our passes that we have left over. I also hate to pay that much for dining for a 10 year old. I guess we will have to weigh our options (or lack of options!).

You wouldn't really have to waste your old tickets. What most people do is just buy a one day ticket & save it for another trip...it will be good until it is activated.

I agree, about the 10 year old & price. I am glad my DS is only 8. I think 10 is too young to be considered an adult for the DP. I think it should be switched to 12 or 13. Most 10 year olds don't have the appetite of an adult.

If you decide to do it, I would say share a few meals---gives you extra credits--and enjoy a nice sign restaurant or a meal at Cindy's.

Does everyone in my party have to have the same days worth of tickets or could one person do the one day? Actually, could I have us all do 1 day and then upgrade 3 out of the 4? Sorry about all the confusing questions. 10 is too young to be considered an adult, especially since they will order off the kids menu. I wonder why Disney made it so young! Maybe because people try to pass their kids off as younger and they figure they might as well make it 10 instead of 13 so less people can get away with it. It's too bad though. Maybe they should offer a price for ages 10-14 or something. Thanks again.

Yes, you could all get one day tix & then upgrade the ones you want. Good luck!

Don't forget that in order to get the dining plan you would have to purchase at least (4) 1 day passes and purchase everything as a package. You could use those 4 days all for one person if you like.
