does everyone have to be at check-in for DDP?

We are getting 2 studios for 3 nights. My parents are joining us the next day and we will all have DDP. I know that all of us have to get DDP for all nights, but how does it work if parents are not there the 1st night (DH and DS would be on that room reservation and arriving the 1st night)? Will they just issue DH everyone's keys? Do parents have to check-in to get their keys? We are not getting park tickets, just DDP. thanks, Elaine

They will likely simply leave your parents keys with you, or you could leave them at the desk for them to pick-up when they arrive. You will have to pay for all the DDPs, including your parents', when you check-in.

As far as I know, the only time WDW has required that everyone be present at checkin is for the free dining packages, which does not apply to DVC.

It is correct that you would be paying for all the dining plans at checkin.
