Does Everyone dress up for Cinderella's Royal Table?

I don't know if I will have my DD 6 to dressup for Cinderella's Royal Table. The dresses are just so itchy and uncomfy for all day wear. And they are certainly to big to "lug" around. But I certainly don't want her to feel left out of the experiance if most others do it. Any ideas, is there some of both or??? Thanks

I see poor hot princesses trudging around the park all day crying because their feet hurt in their glass slippers.

I also see happy princesses skipping around the park in their glass slippers.

It's hard to tell where your princess will fit in between the extremes.

Not everyone does it, but it seems like a lot of kids do it. If you would like for your princess to dress up, how about investing in a locker for the day? You can pack a bag of comfy clothes to wear and then let her just dress up for the big meal with her princess.

Here is what we did. Darling Daughter, 4 and 3/4 at the time and I went to early magic hours and did all our fun rides while big brothers(3 of them) did Typhoon Lagoon with Daddy. We came back to the hotel for a nap.

Our appt at Bibbidi Bobbidi was at 3:30 and we dressed her up with a tee shirt (cinderella of course) underneath. I brought tights but she did not wear them. We bought some very comfy plastic ( but class looking) slippers in a shop on main street, cannot remember the name! She still wears those shoes, they are very comfy!

Anywho, got her all dolled up, went on a few more rides and then off to the castle for dinner.

So, half and half for use worked great!

Lots of kids do not dress up. There are more not dressed up than are dressed up. Let your (and your daughter's) comfort be your guide!

We are going at the end of June and it will be hot. We have ADRs for BBB and CRT for my DD's 5th birthday. My daughter will not be dressed up in a princess dress. The costumes are usually really itchy for her. So, we let her pick out a really pretty sundress. She feels dressed up, but she will be cool (as cool as you can be in June ) and itch free.
There will be girls dressed up in costumes and plenty of girls not dressed up. I would just do whatever is most comfortable for your daughter.

What I plan on doing is putting shorts and tee or tank(depending on the weather) under her dress. I also bought her silver sequin sneakers from The Children's place. She will wear those with "pretty" socks. That way we can take the dress off when she is all done dealing with it. She has an appointment at the BBB and then we have ressies at the Castle for lunch.

We plan on doing bb and dresing dd4 for CRT lunch. It is up to her if she wants to wear her dress after or not. If not I will just get a locker and stuff it in there. I got her a really soft dress at disney store with a velveteen bodice last week. Still really fluffy and full, but not scratchy on top.

My 5 year old is kind of been there done that. No ball gowns however most of her clothes have a disney princess on them

we've (dd/me) have always just worn tiaras... enough princess bling w/out discomfort

i typically make dd a cinderella themed tee shirt for that day as well

Last April we went to CRT for breakfast. Some, but not all little girls, were dressed as princesses. They looked great as princesses. My DD (5yo) didn't want to dress up-- but was still chosen as "honorary princess for the day."

This year we will do BBB and then lunch at CRT. My plan is to let her choose anything she wants to wear-- usually a frilly, comfortable dress is her choice. She has princess dresses, but like others here are saying, they get uncomfortable very fast. As for shoes, she'll have on the most comfortable pair she has, whether or not they match!!

When we did CRT, our DD (then 5) dressed up in her Walmart Disney Princess dress. She put it on over her clothes five minutes before our ADR and she took it off 5 minutes after we left. The Princesses oohed and aahed over her, she felt special and there was not "discomfort" issues to deal with.

She just wore her sneakers, the dress was long anyway. We took off the dress afterwards and I stuffed it in my backpack.
