Does Epcot Still Do KIDCOT and

stamp the Passports? That was the only thing at Epcot my kids liked to do - until TT came.

Yes. As of March they were doing it. The kids could either get the $10 passports and get those stamped etc at each country or they had cardboard masks on a big paint stirrer stick that they would give you to get stamped. They also attatched a little cut out shape at each country. Mexico had a pyramid etc.. That was the only thing that our DD's were interested in in the WS.

Last November they were still doing it. My kids both came home with awesome masks last year. The best ones yet. Great things to take into school.

AK was doing something that you got this book stamped. Sort of the same principle. You got something at the end, but I forget what it was.

We were there last week and they are stilling stamping passports and making masks. My DS loved doing this.

My daughter has enjoyed doing the masks. One of the things I like about this activity is that the folks who man the Kidcot craft tables are usually young folks who come over to the US to work at the pavillions. A lot of these folks will talk to the kids and sometimes tell them things about their country. I like to engage these folks in conversations about what they think about being in the US. Another good thing is that if the kids spend some time with the craft it provides some rest time. And an opportunity for the adults to sample some of the "refreshments" at each country too, if you know what I mean.

FYI - One other thing my DD got a real kick out of was asking in each country what they call Mickey Mouse. There are a few different answers out there!

My DDs 5 and 3 loved kidcot.

I wouldn't waste money on the passports. My girls had no interest in them. I ended up handing them over each time.

The masks are their favorite part of Epcot

The masks are free. They are just a paper cut out mask with a handle...

(take a piece of thick paper cut an oval about the size of a kids head, punch out some holes for eyes and mouth and thats all it is) glue a paint stirrer (kind of like one of those wooden rullers we used to have in grade school) to the side of it like a handle.

Is is a plain white mask and a undecorated handle. The fun part is at each country the kids can add to their mask. Some countries have crayons, some have markers I think one even had finger paint. Each country also stamps there "passport" stamp on the handle and adds a paper cut out "trinket" from thier country to dangle off their mask. My boys were 3 and 1 on our last trip and they both had fun.

We did a passport too, but I think that will be neater when they get a little older. There is a place for a stamp from each country along with stickers to fill the book, and at each country someone would write in a greeting or saying in their native tounge. I think this is a nice looking and nice size item if you like to do scrapbooking.

I wouldn't call it a waste of money. It was 9.95 and is exciting for the little ones, lasts for hours (depending on how fast you make it around the "world"). Then you can keep them occupied for a coulple of minutes in the car or on the plane having them put the stickers in the book. And then it makes a good keepsake and show and tell item.

Hey - last week we bought passports for $12.00 in one of the World Showcase shops. Maybe they went up? Anyway, I vote for the masks only - get them stamped. The only cool thing about the passports was that each person wrote a message, many of them personalized. Have fun!

Where are the Kidcot stations located in each country?

The KIDCOT stations are usually a table set up outside each country. They are easy to spot. I think I remember them being in a shaded spot.

We found most of the Kidcot stations located in gift shops or stores in each country. Sometimes we had to hunt around a little bit or ask someone. My daughter (11) bought the passport and had a lot of fun doing this. She brought it to school to show her class.

I am too cheap to spend $12 - can we just bring a small notebook(maybe with labels or pictures for the countries on different pages), and have those stamped?

We made our own passports using index cards, clip art, and binding them.

My son was an emergent reader then, so we got all the flags of the countries at that time, and wrote the name.. that way he could recognize the flag/name of country if anything.

We got clip art of all the flags and put them in a Word Document. WE then printed such Word Document onto index cards. (blank ones)

We then arranged them in order, and then did this.


Went to Staples to get the back and front cover laminated and bound for like $1.50/$2.00

The back cover my DH put a World Symbol and the front was his name and other stuff on it

We got many many comments from the CM's about this.. like where did you get this? You made this? Ect...


The costs were just the laminating, binding...

My kids loved making the masks last time we went. They still play with them a year and a half later. They stamped the handle at each country and our favorite was China where they stamped it with the animal of their birth year and wrote their names in Chinese.

My DD loved Epcot best cause she was the only one waiting for Jasmine and got lots of personal time with her. We ran into Jasmine about an hour later and she referred to my DD by name. That blew us away!! That and the masks made Epcot her favorite park at age 4!!

My DD loved the passports in Dec. She was 10 at the time, and it made our trip to Epcot so nice. We had never spent much time in the WS, but this trip, she loved spending time there. We bought ours prior to going to WDW. I've also occasionally seen them at the Character Warehouses.

Amy - I remember seeing AK passports in the gift shop in ASMo on our Sept 2000 trip. They were on sale and wished I bought one then, but it was our last couple of days and didn't plan going back to AK.

Next trip - couldn't see them anywhere - so I would like to know too, if they still do these.

In March '02 my daughter started on her "passport" book at AK. It was similar to the Kidcot stations in that it was free. There was a little activity to do, then you got a stamp. We only did 2 stations before leaving.

This is the info I got from WDW Magic, but I'm not sure if they are still doing it.
