We are making our first trip with our 6 children. I know my 15 yr. old son will not be interested. My 3 year old daughter would love to have it as a keepsake if I add in pictures.

It just seems like a lot of books to be lugging around........though I guess that's because we have a lot fo kids. :)

Do you find that doing autographs and pictures with the characters take a lot of time out of your day?

I would certainly have an autograph book for your DD. We actually only stood in line one time (we just happened to be in the right place when Jessie and Woody came out at MK, and were 3rd in line), the rest of our autographs we got at character meals. That was really great so then we didn't have to chase down characters and could spend more time on the attractions.

I know it seems alot of trouble, but I would do one for each kid (unless they are old enough to be able to take turns very well!) OR just have one family autograph book. We like the one with the plastic insert for pictures. Truthfully you don't even need one purchased at Disney...any sort of small scrapbook that you could decorate ahead of time with character stickers. There are lots of very creative people on these boards, some who make pages for certain characters that say "Reserved for Pluto" etc.

What we did to try to stay out of the shops initially was to order a "welcome to disney" basket for the kids with a few items they would each like and also things like the Epcot passport and the autograph books we would need in the parks. We ordered it from www.peggyssweetsandmore.com and was very happy with the way it turned out.

We just got back from a trip to Disney with 7 kids, all but my 1 year old nephew had their own autograph book. They all LOVED it! There ages are 15(16 next week though!)boy, 14 yo girl, two 10 year old girls, and two 5 year old girls. For us, the autographs and intereaction with the characters is one of our very favorite parts of the trip. I use to be one who poo pooed waiting in line JUST to have a character sign a piece of paper. I did NOT get it! But, Last year, we bougtht the Photopass, and there were quite a few Photopass photographers with the characters, which got us interested in meeting them! Anyway, it is a lot of fun, and I think each child should have their own book. They were all so proud of them, it was fun!

Are you sure your teenager doesn't want to do it? Or, does he just think he's too old? I would bring him a book anyway, just in case he changes his mind! Disney can bring out the kid in anyone, even a teenager! :thumbsup2

My older two kids (DD8 & DS6) each have their own autograph books. We try to only bring the autograph books to character meals, and we usually only do two character meals per trip. That way we're not lugging the books around all week. If we see characters in the parks on a day where we don't have the books, we might stop for a photo, but my kids are much more interested in going on the rides than getting autographs.

We intended to bring the books to the P & PP and forgot. The only autugraph they really wanted was Jack Sparrow's, so they asked him to sign the P & PP map. It looks great in the scrapbook.
