Does DL do anything special the month of Dec. to celebrate the holidays?

The parade and fireworks will be holiday related. Santa and his deer can usually be found. They offer cookie decorating. They dont typically offer a Christmas party like WDW does.

The entire Disneyland Resort is decorated for Christmas

Disneyland -
* Huge Christmas Tree in Town Square on Main Street
* The whole park will be decorated according to themes for each land
* Dickens carolers on Main Street
* Frontierland will have Reindeer Roundup and pictures with Santa (traditional)
** There will be a corral where you can see Reindeer & Mrs. Claus will walk around
** Chip & Dale, and others, will entertain you while you wait for your pictures
** Cookie decorating - and eating
* New Orleans should also have cookie decorating
* Christmas fireworks with snow afterwards
* Christmas Parade
* Some characters will be dressed in Christmas theme

California Adventure
* Beach Blanket Party
* Southern California Santa (he's so cool)

Downtown Disney
* Christmas decorations & holiday music

Hotels
* Decorated for the holidays
* Santa in the Grand Californian Hotel Lobby

That's what I can remember off the top of my head. I have pics of most of this that I will probably post at a later date.

Also, two attractions are changed for Christmas (at least they were in past years). It's a Small World becomes IaSW Holiday (this was cute) and Haunted Mansion adopts a Nightmare Before Christmas theme based on Tim Burton's movie (this was an amazing overhaul and total transformation--it becomes a whole different ride). If you haven't seen the movie, make sure you do before you go--you will be blown away.

See you there (fingers crossed)!

I know WDW has MVMCP. Does DL have a Christmas Party too? What can we expect at the parks during Christmastime? TIA

They do have a Disneyland Candlelight Processional every year. For 2006, it's scheduled for December 2nd and 3rd. Here's a link to an article about 2003's event, but you'll get the idea of what it's about:

It's not publicized as much as the CP at WDW (that's what you were referring to with "MVMCP", right?), but they do indeed have a CP. :)

Excellent shows, events and Holiday fun listed above.

I so love Disneyland, but during the Holiday season, it really is the Happiest and Merriest Place on Earth.

Believe in Holiday Magic returns. :yay:
What an awesome seasonally themed fireworks show, that amazes and melts even the most adult hearts. :thumbsup2

Haunted Mansion Holiday, It's a Small World Holiday, the Christmas Fantasy Parade ... lush, gorgeous, incredible Holiday foods, snacks, decor, theming and entertainment ... what an even more wonderful wonderful day at the Disneyland Resort!
:bounce:

Disneyland does an amazing job with the transformations, andthe facade for It's a Small World is absolutely beautiful.

The daily 'lighting' of It's a Small World Holiday is a fun, quick event as well.
It always make me smile! :)

And the after dark animation projected on the Small World facade last year was really fun. I hope it returns this year... even though the 50th is over and the Small World area 'Remember.... projectors' might be removed before the Holiday Season.

I sure hope not. It was a great little show, for a minute or two!

We go to DL in Dec just about every year, except this year we are going in October because we are having a baby at the end of November. We LOVE the x-mas decorations, they alone are worth the trip in Dec. Although it will be interesting to see DL with just their normal decorations.

It is atrip everyone should make , they do such a beautiful job! I am soo jelous I wish I could go too!
