Well, I know FOR CERTAIN that they do watch and take our advice and concerns seriously. I don't want to say too much, but some of one particular poster's advice (a girl...one of my favorite posters) was actually taken very seriously by
DVC....just wait and see. (Man!! I wish I could say more!!!

)
Would be entertaining to see how seriously they would take information they glean off of these boards. Just imagine the response that would happen if they took everything to literally without understanding the segments that members of this board represent. Perhaps something like the following?:
Official DVC Memorandum
To: DVC Resort Planning Board
From: DVC Product Line Management
Subject: DISboards reseach project
Date: 7/27/2006
CC: Bog Iger
After several months of review of the content of the DVC related DISboards, we've come to several conclusions that should impact the design decisions for the next DVC resort:
1) Resort size: SSR is way too big. Despite the fact that some people like the spa and the golf course, it seems to cause BCV owners to not be able to reserve at their 11 month window and only gives them dumpster views. Plus in some cases SSR has been known to cause hurricanes and arthritis. Recommendation: Don't name the next resort Saratoga Springs or anything like it. Make sure the new resort starts with the letter 'B' and contains the word 'villas'
2) The Pools: The Pools are too hot and too cold. They are never big enough, and people tend to mark chairs with towels and personal items and never sit in them. Recommendation: There is plenty of swamp land that we own. Build the next property next to a swamp and theme it. We may have to clean it up a bit, although we probably dont need to get rid of any alligators since they seem to be an attraction themselves. We need to put timers on the chairs based on motion sensors, and if no one uses the chair within a specific time we use a flame thrower to incinerate the items left on the chair.
3) Dumpsters: 90% of all the views at our resorts apparently look at dumpsters. Recommendation: We cant get rid of the dumpsters, so we need other options. Weve seen that people prefer views of the nightly firework displays, we could launch nightly firework displays out of the dumpsters. Another option, people prefer water and pool views, so put the dumpster in the pools.
4) Air Conditioning: The motion detectors do not work well enough, causing extensive conversations around how to disable them. Recommendation: Insert a heat monitoring implant into each guest that transmits information to the air conditioning unit into each room.
5) DVC members hate hallways. They are too long, or they are too ugly. Exterior hallways are bad, but interior hallways are too loud and the carpets degrade to fast. Weve seen name calling and claims of excessive snobbery by passport toting world travelers leveled at those who criticize the hallways in any fashion. Recommendation: Next resort should not have hallways. Instead should have peoplemovers. Or go with option listed under elevators (point #6). Instead of carpets, use concrete floors. Make sure to paint them to look like carpets. Another option is field turf, since that seems to be very durable.
6) Elevators: People are either too close to them or too far away. Recommendation: Scrap the elevators altogether. Use catapults.
7) Resort location: People seem to prefer water views in resorts with extensive themes with nearby proximity to theme parks, restaurants and golf courses. Recommendation: Find an underperforming section of the World Showcase in Epcot and turn it into a DVC, themed against the original 'regional' theme. Put a golf course next door and call it good.
