Does Disney ever offer a discount on the room and FD whether it be QS or TS? If so, how often? I got the 20/30/40 pin but the DVC is still cheaper. If I get FD with TS booking with POR would only be maybe $200 savings. The biggest savings would be staying at value with FD but I really don't think I want to do that

From what I have read here...you pay rack rate when you get FD.

I saw someone post that they got an email of FD with 40% off the room....I thought it said they were from Connecticut.

There was a post about this... a woman posted that her husband's coworker swore he got 30% off and F/D.

He was supposed to bring it in to work the next day.. but they never posted back.

I think I remember a year or two ago there was a free dining bounceback that included a room discount but only for SSR and OKW. Other than that I've not heard of it.

For our Dec 2008 trip, we did get FD plus a 20% room discount. We stayed at CR and this promotion was for Disney Visa Holders. I don't believe it was released to the general public. Not all resorts were available though. I don't even "think" that a room discount was available at all of the resorts. I believe it was promoted as free dining, but I assure you all, we got 20% off our room as well. It was a great deal!

Yes, they had 30% off in addition to FD. Also, Disney Visa had FD in 2008 that gave the Value season price to us in Regular season so I guess some type of discount on the room.

Our room rate during this promo gave us Value season rate in Reg. season at ASMu.

But the discounts were from a couple years ago with room and FD?
I'm doing the math and lets say Disney offers that in October POR is $1159 for my family discount on 20% would bring it to around 925. Plus to offer free dining either QSS or DPP would be $500-650 free. It just seems that they would be practically giving the trip away. It would be an absolute great deal, I guess.
I'm thinking we'll stay at OKW through DVC, if I'm lucky BWV. So $670 tops (unless there are fees involved I'm missing.) I don't think I could feed my family of 4 on just $300 for 6 nights. BUT without that kind of discount room and dining I would not book with Disney and would definetely do the points.

We got the same deal for CBR in Dec 2008 with Disney Visa. Free Dining and room discount. I thought it was 30% but it may have been 20. It was a great deal. I don't know if we will see it again.

Actually I'm pretty sure she responded about it and said it wound up being an either/or deal...NOT both.
