Does Disney gate check IDs?

So I have property in FL and am eligible to buy resident tickets, however we don't live there and have an out of State ID. Will they check me at the gate to make sure a) I have residency status and b) they name on the tickets match my ID?

Yes, they do or else anyone could try to buy the Florida discounted tickets.

I have no experience with this so take what I have to say with a grain of salt.
I have read here on the boards that people with out of state ids were able to buy resident passes with a water bill, homeowners insurance bill/policy or bank accounts that have both your name and Florida address on it dated within a month or 2.

We are out of state resident snowbirds and yes, they will check. Luckily, our water bill is in DW's name and the cable bill is in my name. Those two documents and our drivers license are necessary to get our resident passes.

Florida resident tickets are different than normal tickets, u will have to get ur Florida resident tickets in person at the ticket counter. U can't order them online and get shipped to ur house like normal tickets. They do not check ID's at the gates so u dont have to worry about that but they don't need to ID at gates because all Florida resident tickets are in person pick up only. U can purchase them in advance online and u will receive a confirmation ticket/number that u will have to present to ticket counter along with ur Florida ID's in order to actually get ur ticket and ur ticket will get assigned to u only rite there. They are really strict and thorough on this.
