PLEEEESE tell me that Disney does this!! I think it is worth the money to buy it. They can get "up close" to all events onboard. Many times your personal video camera does not get many things you want to see and hear. thououghly enjoy watching my video diary over and over from another cruise line. It is so much fun to see all of the people you met on your cruise as well as the clips from the activities on the trip. Please tell me that I will be able to buy a video..:(

I didn't see any or hear anything about it when I went this past July.

I have never seen this available on the 3 cruises I have been on. If anyone would know, it would be Barb and Tony.

I did take my own video last year and I love watching it!

WE have sailed DCL 7 times and I have never seen this on the Wonder or the Magic. It is a good idea, but there are so many activities that split so many people in different areas....one tape would have alot of one person experiences, but not alot of what another person experiences.....I do not know if it would work.

I do know other cruise lines have this, like Carnival.

Although by accepting the terms of your DCL contract you are consenting to being photographed for promotional purposes, you are <I>not</I> automaticvally giving DCL permission to include you in photos or videos for <I>resale to other guests</I>. In order to <I>legally</I> do this, DCL would need to get a photo/video release from <I>every passenger</I>. I believe they only film for special events and if they do, you will be required to sign a release prior to filming. On the 01/23/03 Annual Passholder cruise on the Wonder, Disney required a photo release for participating AP holders. A crew from <I>Expedia</I> was also onboard doing some 360 filming.

I do not know about <I>Carnival</I>'s policy, but if they are selling videos to guests that include other guests, I think that would be illegal unless it is part of your cruise agreement.

Carnival cruise line and Celebrity cruise line offers a video tape highlighting the cruise. We have only bought one and it took forever to get it but it is interesting watching it several weeks later. Helps one to relive the cruise. Kathy

Just wanted to add that we were on an RCCL cruise several years ago that did that too. My sister bought the tape as they were in it and she thought it would be a fun keepsake. I didn't give anyone written permission:eek: :D

If you did not give anyone written permission, then permission was probably included in the fine print of the cruise contract. They would not want to be setting themselves up for a law suit.

I also was wondering if DCL did video diarys. It is a shame that they do not do them. we have been on 2 carnival cruises and enjoy watching the videos.
