Does Disney chat have an alert

While waiting for DAS, will it sound an alert when they respond? Or do I have to stare at this screen all day?
Also, if I wait until we get to our Disney resort to do DAS, is there anywhere besides the parks that we can apply? Our first day is not a park day so it would be nice to set it up then.

DAS in person registration can only be done at one of the 4 theme parks.
Each park has a Guest Relations station just outside of the park entrance where you may be able to register for DAS. People have had varying success with being able to register there; depends on having iPad that is needed available and the wait can be long because guests using the outside the park Guest Relations often have ticket issues to resolve before entering the park.

If you are not staying at a WDW resort/hotel, you will need to pay for parking.
Guests need to go thru Security before getting to Guest Relations and you will be able to see into the actual park entrance area - not an issue for some people, but others may have a difficult time with being able to see, but not go in.

If you wait until your first park day, you can register for DAS at Guest Relations inside the park or one of the blue Guest Experience umbrellas located around the park. Guest Relations at MK is usually the busiest and will have the longest wait.

No alert.
You literally have to stare at it all day.
It took me 3 days to do it.
I'm glad I did though.
If you have the time I would preregister.

Should I keep refreshing the page? They got back to me at 9:30 and I don’t see it until it was too late but I don’t know why. I’m assuming I should refresh every once in a while. I get logged out sometimes too.

If they started a chat with you and you were not there and did not respond within a few minutes they end the conversation and you have to start the conversation again and wait for hours again unt5il the respond.
You really do need to be looking every couple minutes at least.

It depends on what kind of browser you are using and if you have your computer set up to receive notifications! Mine made an alert noise when my cast members chatted with me! I'm using Microsoft Edge. :)

Yes, you'll get logged out every once in awhile but you just need to go back to the login screen and log back in. It doesn't kick you out of the queue. You don't need to refresh the page.

Unless the CM ends the chat…:sad2:

But this is a great tip. Thanks 🙏🏼

I haven’t attempted the process myself yet… but if it’s like many chat interfaces, you might be able to begin your side of the conversation while still waiting to connect. Maybe type in that you will check your screen every x# of minutes (say 3 or 4) and to please wait that long before ending the chat session? It may not matter, but it could be worth at least asking.

I know that different browsers (including desktop/laptop vs mobile platforms) often have different alert possibilities/ settings. Could be worth opening it in a different browser if you miss the CM connecting to you and have to try again.

Make sure to look carefully at the chat window to see if there’s a settings (gear) icon that could allow you to turn on alerts as well.
Also, I know I frequently forget that I need to turn up the volume on my device for alerts, since I keep it muted more often than not… so double check that too.

idk if any of that will make a difference, but it’s worth a check.

One last thing— its counterintuitive, but several people have posted that they had much better luck getting connected in a reasonable timeframe by waiting until later in the day… a couple hours before closing.
Like I said, it feels like it couldn’t work, but I suspect that given the rumors of insane wait times, everyone is inundating the system early in the day… but as people give up, miss the CM, or otherwise get disconnected, the queue clears out as the day goes on. So it seems like it’d be worth a try to ‘call’ later in the day, if you’re waiting forever & missing the CM.

Good luck!
