Does/Did Your Dad Ever Cook?

My Dad never cooked that I know of. He did make his own breakfast-yoghurt from the frig and some fruit and coffee. My husband literally does most of the cooking that is 'necessary.' I cook on weekends and holiday meals or when I feel like it. Knowing how to cook and proving it were criteria for dating a man before I met my husband. If a man could not or would not learn-off with his head!

My dad only cooked if my mother was so sick that she passed out. Then we had eggs. My mother did all the cooking, dishwashing, laundry, etc., and I decided at any early age that the drudge work was not going to be my sole responsibility if I ever got married. DH can do everything around the house, although he is incapable of changing sheets for some reason.

My dad is an awesome cook and an extreme foodie (he loves going to out to eat and figure out what spices, ect. are used)!! He can cook anything and its delicious. I can never get a straight recipe from him because its always "a little of this, a little of that" and Im a strict recipe follower!!

Yep, dad cooked quite a bit growing up and was completely in charge of the grill. He had quite a few signature dishes he did well, like chicken fried steak, fried potatos, reubens.

Just burgers on the grill.

When mom didn't cook, we got McDonalds or Burger King.

My dad is a fabulous cook. He cooks all of the regional specialties: gumbo,stews,seafood spaghetti,fried seafood. My husband and sons are also wonderful cooks. I think in south Louisiana,it's a cultural thing that men love to cook.

My dad was the one that cooked in our family. Very different from my Df who I have to explain how to lay out meat to. (true story )
