Does delta offer 1st free bag checked free to everyone?

I am confused with detlas bag fees, i read online if flying within the us your 1st bag is free & 2nd is like $25. Then i read you only get the free one if you have a certain credit card with delta which is it. anyone know.

You get 1 free if you have their American Express card. If you are a Medallion Member of Skymiles (very frequent flyer) or if you fly first class, in you get 2 free.

I have the AmEx and have used resort check-in. It's already tied to your skymiles # so when you check your luggage it will automatically come up 1 free for each person, you don't need to show the card. I've never had to show the card to get my 1 free, either at the airport check-in counter, kiosk or RAC.

Which resort did you stay at? At Beach Club, I didn't have my Amex so they had to spend a few minutes to call Delta to verify that I was allowed a free bag. They said their check-in system can not see whether I get a free checked bag or not.
